Bluebird metacity
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
A small port of Bluebird xfwm4 theme (developed by Shimmer project http://shimmerproject.org/projects/bluebird/).
Requirements: metacity >= 2.18 (i.e. any GNOME release during the last 3 years)
Installation
Download the archive and unpack its contents into ~/.themes/
If you want to download the matching Gtk+ theme, unpack the latest Bluebird-x-y-z.tar.gz archive from https://github.com/shimmerproject/Bluebird/tree/master/releases (e.g. https://github.com/shimmerproject/Bluebird/blob/5e726e8d3a70914f82fb936de8e654f4ec7534de/releases/Bluebird-0.3.2.tar.gz?raw=true) and unpack gtk-2.0 folder into ~/.themes/Bluebird/
Tweaking the theme
* Open file Bluebird/metacity-1/metacity-theme-2.xml (please, do not open metacity-theme-1.xml, it is a placeholder file) with any text editor (e.g. Gedit).
* Change the values of constants at the beginning of the file.
* At present you can change:
* border colors;
* specify, whether the title is centered or left-aligned.
* You can also make the borders around dialog windows to be the same width as the borders around normal windows (i.e. 2px instead of 1px). In order to do this, please go to the end of metacity-theme-2.xml and follow the comment.

Panel font color: open file gtk-2.0/panel.rc from Bluebird gtk package in any text editor.
There are several lines in it, which are setting the color of the font:
fg[NORMAL] = ...
fg[ACTIVE] = ...
fg[PRELIGHT] = ...
text[NORMAL] = ...
text[PRELIGHT] = ...
text[ACTIVE] = ...
Replace the right part of that lines with the color you like (e.g. "#ff0000" for bright red).
Please note, that you should not modify bg[...] lines, as these are responsible for background color. Also note, that text color is set in several places, you must replace it in all of them.
