Great to hear you'll be releasing an update for Lucid when you get the chance. Something I've noticed that has changed in Lucid, in Rhythmbox, is the icon for the "change the visibility of the browser" (aka the button to the right of the shuffle button). They must have changed the name of this toolbar icon because it no longer uses the custom icon. Besides fixing that in the update, could you please post the name / location of this new icon when you figure it out? I want to update my other themes too and can't for the life of me figure out what icon is being used.

Thanks for all your hard work.

"change the visibility of the browser" icon is located at:

"usr/share/icons/hicolor/24x24/places"

And is called "music-library"

But including a icon called "music-library" in your theme places folder will work as well and Rhythmbox will show the new icon.

Hope that helps
Richard

Thanks for commenting, i was going to release an update alot earlier but i have been very busy and have not been able to complete the various changes and updates needed.

I will try to find the location and icon name and post it as a reply. Also I plan to start on Simple after June 15th as then i will have alot more free time.

In Evolution, the icons for to "Mark for Deletion" and "Mark as Junk" are both red minus signs... --and right next to each other.

Can the icon to mark as junk be something different?

Request #2: Using Synaptic with this icon set on Ubuntu is very confusing. Can the icons that appear in Synaptic be a little closer to the originals? (Maybe a nicer looking empty checkbox, nicer looking checked box, etc. instead of the star, plus sign, chevron, etc.)

Can you associate Liferea with the "Internet News Reader" icon in the next release?

If I apply new icons from the extras package (specifically Gimp as mentioned above) it will still use the old icon if I drag from the menu to create a launcher, and in Docky. Is there a way to make it use only the icons it's supposed to?

Thanks for commenting your issue you’re having is the icon cache has not updated causing you to see the old icons.

You will need to run these commands in a terminal to make your changes take effect:

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/Simple

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f ~/.icons/Simple

(If you get an error about the folder not existing on the second one, change .icons to icons)

These commands came from russianzilla who commented about the same issue on the last page of comments (Page 8).
Also these commands are included with the Readme in Simple Extras.

...icons for Gimp and Eclipse that somewhat resemble the normal icons for Gimp and Eclipse? :)

No problem. Extra icons for each of the applications will be in included in 2.1.

Reason for no updates since 2.0 is due to me being very busy with my degree and the last week I have been very ill.

Bro,I love this icon theme, thanks for yr hard work. One suggestion, that 'volume control' icon on upper panel, which I think,is ,too big,and it'd be really nice if using original Human icon theme's 'volume' icon. And why the wifi signal is not change in Ubuntu 9.10?

Thanks for commenting and posting feedback, I will include the original ubuntu volume icons into Simple Extras giving the user the choice.

Also I will look to improve the current set of volume icons included with Simple 2.0.

Finally thanks for heads up on the wifi icons, I will try to fix the icons in future versions, The reason for that issue is currently I don't own a laptop (Let a family member borrow it for now) or own a wireless adaptor to test and see if it works with Simple 2.0

Thanks Again for posting

Thanks for your work, this is a really great icon theme. However, for some reason, the Simple Extras icons don't work completely. They don't replace every version of the same icon everywhere. For example, although I replaced all the original sound icons with the extras icons, the old icon is still used in the system tray and notifications. I've already tried to restart, same thing. This also happens for folder icons: they look fine in the menus, but revert to older versions in Nautilus. Otherwise, great work!

First thanks for commenting,

Second thanks for notifying me of the problem i will make sure Simple Extras works as expected for all future versions

Sorry again for any inconveniences caused

Sorry, I actually realized this was my fault. There's nothing wrong with Simple Extras. The problem is that I didn't update my icon cache, so not all my changes took effect. Sorry for that bug report, everything works fine now.

For future reference, if anyone replaces their icons with icons from Simple Extras, make sure to run these commands in a terminal to make your changes take effect:

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/Simple

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f ~/.icons/Simple

(If you get an error about the folder not existing on the second one, change .icons to icons)

Great (and completely flawless) work wipeout140!

No Problem, I am glad you enjoy using Simple and Simple Extras.

Also thanks for posting the commands to fix the icon cache.

Those commands will be included in future extras versions with credit to you.

Thanks Again

An Icon Theme should have a valid .theme file among its files and aim to be complete for desktop use under Gnome or KDE Plasma.

If it contains only a single icon or a small set of icons, please use the Icon Sub-Sets or Single Icon/Logo categories instead.
