MediterraneanNight Series 2.03
12 Themes for Gnome 3.6.x and 3.8.x
* IMPORTANT *
- GTK2 theme uses gtk2-engines-murrine and gtk2-engines-pixbuf
- Inside the theme folder (MediterraneanNight) there is a readme.txt file with some really simple instructions to customize the theme (styles for nautilus, 4 tab styles, metacity buttons)
- Ubuntu 12.10 comes by default with gnome 3.6 and nautilus-3.4 (though you can upgrade to nautilus-3.6), but if you have nautilus-3.4, you must set the theme for nautilus-3.4, as explained in the readme.txt
- Almost all the themes are the same, varying between each of them only the color scheme and some bitmaps, which provides an opportunity for the more restless to create your own theme with few changes.
Take for example the series MediterraneanTribute
Known issues:
- qBitTorrent with MediterraneanGrayDark.

The default installation of the package gtk2-engines, not install you really need, which is this:
Murrine GTK2 engine
gtk-murrine-engine-0.98.2-3fc19
- MediterraneanNight also support nautilus-3.4. (see readme.txt)
---------------------------------
* Select style for nautilus *
---------------------------------
Edit the file ../MediterraneanNight/gtk-3.0/gtk.css
go to the last line of the file, there are seven options for nautilus:
Nautilus 3.6.x for gnome-shell 3.6.x and/or unity (by default)
@import url("nautilus36.css");
3 options for nautilus 3.4.x (gnome-shell)
1.- "gnome-nautilus34-gray.css" (nautilus sidebar and toolbar dark gray)
2.- "gnome-nautilus34-light.css" (nautilus sidebar and toolbar light)
3.- "gnome-nautilus34-gray-light.css" (nautilus sidebar dark gray and toolbar light)
3 options for nautilus 3.4.x (UNITY)
1.- "unity-nautilus34-gray.css"
2.- "unity-nautilus34-light.css"
3.- "unity-nautilus34-gray-light.css"

Saludos y gracias

Is it possible to disable the texture in titlebar and toolbars? I like your theme flat and simple! :) I looked is the CSS but i have not found how. It makes a strange effect with Firefox (and some others apps) menu bar and tab bar.
Thanks!

Anyway, it's a bit experimental and between today and tomorrow I will add a download without textures.

I'm using arch too but I have the problem described above with that option on (of course there isn't any problem if I switch off that option but I wanted to have icons on my desktop)

Right now I'm using an older version of your theme that has the tab colors set this way: http://i.imgur.com/ektYx7T.png the only issue with this is that it has the color inverted for the active and inactive tabs (the dark one is the active while you would intuitively expect the lighter to be the one being highlighted).

find this:
NemoWindow .notebook tab:active,
NautilusWindow .notebook tab:active {
background-image: -gtk-gradient (linear,
left top, left bottom,
from (shade(@theme_base_color, 0.90)),
color-stop (0.15, shade(@theme_base_color, 1.00)),
to (shade(@theme_base_color, 1.00)));
.............
.............
}
There you can change the color of active tab
good luck :)

There's actually a problem with gnome 3.8. I'm using Mediterranean Light theme and the gnome tweak setting "have file manager handle the desktop" set to on is causing a gnome not to draw correctly the background, in fact the background becomes totally white.
I've found that the problem also affects the stadarda Ubuntu Ambiance theme and has already been pointed out here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1159430
at post #19
"* {
/* inherit the color from parent by default */
color: inherit;
background-color: @bg_color; // <-- this line
}"
I've tried to comment out the line "background-color: @bg_color;" and it worked except for the theme to be messed up.
Can you please fix it?
I'd like to say that after years of wandering from theme to theme I've finally found the one that fits perfectly my tastes, keep up the good works you've done so far, thanks again!

It is an unnatural solution, widgets must have a background color (including transparent), and it is logical that nautilus desktop mode allows to put a transparent background color as it was so far and do not understand why now does not.
said this, I have the hope that gnome people end up giving a solution (or an alternative) to this problem

Saludos :)

In any case, sooner or later will be done.
By the way, with which distro you're using gnome 3.8? is for testing me too :)
