Ambiantastic
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
This is basically a modification on Ambiance II to incorporate Victory's awesome nautilus sidebar. Colors are modified also to stay true to the dist I'm using at the moment (ubuntu). Feel free to change the orange to green or blue or w/e depending on your dist. I have attached links to the awesome Ambiance II theme and Victory out of respect and credits included in gtkrc to the respective authors.
(Ambiance II metacity included)
Any suggestions or pointers to improve this theme combination are welcomed.
If anyone also wants my conky script or the docky skin I'm using I'm willing to upload that as well upon request.
System font used is Neotech.
If you are the author of this wallpaper notify me and I'll link to your artwork.
If you have nautilus elementary installed rename the folder nautilus (elementary) to nautilus to use the breadcrumbs effect.
Criticize gently :P

To enable the background in nautilus open a nautilus window then click Edit/Background & Emblems
Choose the color button on the left hand side.
Scroll down to Onyx color and drag it onto your nautilus window.
You may also notice there is an "Add a new color" option. You can probably figure it out once you click it to add more shades that suit you.
Hope this helps.

I have pretty much all standard engines installed. And Ubuntu's actual Ambiance works fine.

This theme only requires murrine engine. Make sure you have the latest gtk2-engines-murrine package installed.

there is another little bug on Karmic: the title bar buttons are not smooth, i.e. the right side of the three buttons is squared, not smooth. And the font is not the one you can see in the preview, instead it is quite the same as Dust font. I'd like to post a screenshot but I don't know how to do that.
Cheers!

type gconf-editor
then browse to apps/metacity/general
change the button_layout field value to "close, minimize, maximize:" without the quotes.
Let me know if this fixes it.
Now about that font I'm using its called "Neotech" Unfortunately I cant upload it since its not freeware you'll have to purchase it or find a similar font on google. The default font should work fine you just follow my steps above and decrease the font size until it doesn't take up a lot of space (size 9 or 8.5 should be fine).
Hope this helps.

Cool theme, very good job!
But take a look at what happens when I use gnuplot:
usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:218: Impossibile trovare il file di immagine in pixmap_path: "nautilus/left_slider_normal.png"
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:221: Background image options specified without filename

/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:242: Background image options specified without filename
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:275: Impossibile trovare il file di immagine in pixmap_path: "Images/null.png"
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:290: Impossibile trovare il file di immagine in pixmap_path: "Images/null.png"
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:291: Background image options specified without filename
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:333: Impossibile trovare il file di immagine in pixmap_path: "Images/null.png"
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance III/gtk-2.0/pixmap.rc:335: Background image options specified without filename
have I made some mistakes in installation? I just put everything to /usr/share/themes/.
thanks

However, if you do have nautilus-elementary installed
1) rename the "nautilus" folder in Ambiance III\gtk-2.0 to "nautilus backup"
2) then rename the "nautilus (elementary)" folder to "nautilus"
This should solve your problem. If you dont know what nautilus-elementary is visit their website and check it out http://elementary-project.com/news/nautilus-in-elementary/
Let me know if you need further help with this.

But a issue remained: in pixmap.rc the computer looks 4 the file Images/null.png (which actually is situated just in others/) hence I created a folder called Images and I copied others/null.png there.
It worked!
:)
Thanks and congratulations 4 this awesome theme!
a little, very little suggestion:
would it be possible to shrink more the title bars of the windows?
Cheers!

Thanks for pointing out the null.png problem I forgot I had moved that file to others/null.png I have that fixed and reuploaded.
About the title bar it is set in the theme to cover the window buttons size (close, min, max). If on your desktop the titlebar hight is much larger than the buttons it must be because you are using a big font. You can adjust that by going to System/Preferences/Appearance and then choose the fonts tab and adjust the window title font size. Send me a screenshot if your window looks odd compared to the screenshots above and I'll try to figure out whats wrong.

Just extract it into /usr/share/docky/themes
You are absolutely right about the root size I have mine set to 30 GB ever since I stopped using windows a year ago. I had lousy tips when installing linux for the first time :)
I dont know how to move that extra space to /home without formatting so if you know an easy method let me know. I'm a fairly new linux user.
Unfortunately I do not have the wallpaper without text. You can either use gimp to clone over the text or remake it. Sorry I cant be of help.
