after a long time I'm looking again at this side and can see... that nothing has changed... :(
So lonerocker, are you still working on it (and if not: are you working on anything other?) or is it time for a fork? ;)

After this one I was working on Roedor, also for XFCE and Gnome.

But maybe some time in the future I will learn how to make good looking SVGs and then I could fork it, if you don't update it till then. :)

I'm very happy to see that you are still working on shining reprise and that it likes so much to all the people (more than 2100 downloads at gnome-look!! in 2 months!! WOW)!!
as you titled this topic, I would like to ask for.. a couple of things :)
1. it seems that it had been mods on these sites, 'cauze 'till last gtk theme I upload for my account, uploading something to www.xfce-look.org was like upload it at gnome-look, too, and to kde-look and so on..! All the servers were linked, in 2 words..
Now rules are changed? I saw that also comments are different in shining repirse between xfce-look and gnome-look! A few months ago they were the same everywhere!!
2. I tried shining reprise for pidgin tray.. but it's not working!
3. my list:
- deadbeef player
- decibel audio player
- emacs
- vim
- red notebook
- epdf viewer
- text room
- gqview
- fotoxx
- terminator
- another terminal icon version
- poedit
- sweet home 3d
- (games, games: assault cube, openarena, urban terror, sauerbraten, pingus, super tux, nevernoid, lbreakout, breakout, metal blob solid.. and so on :D :D )
Thank you very much, my friend..
see ya!

2). what version of pidgin do you have?, for themes I think you need 2.6 or above. If it's not this, don't know what to say.
3).I take note.
4). thanks again for the comments.

I noticed that in the tray directory there is this structure:
dir: 16/status
dir: hicolor
in the hicolor dir there are:
dir: 16/status
dir: 24/status
dir: 32/status
dir: 64/status
and in eache dir the filenames are like: pidgin-*.*
while yours are tray-offline and so on..
I try to follow the same structure of the original icons but they still don't work!!

very good icons, I must admit!
The theme was one of my preferred 'till the original release but this is much better, even if I think you have to add a lot of icons, haven't you??
just a little personal suggestion: slackware on, please!! why all the themes are always missing the icon for this fundamental release??
Thank you very much for paying attention and please go on with Shinig!, it's so coll!!
bye bye, man, see you soon!! :D

Is it possible to make the missing weather icons? It looks nice with the icons providet but it's not the best ^^
Keep in mind that this icon set would be the first one with custom weather icons if the patch goes upstream :)

So you will (again) try to compile it from source (you need build tools and for example the gtk-2 header files) or wait till the patch goes upstream.
But the icons seem to work: http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/470/weathernewicons.png

the only file with that name is in /usr/lib/xfce4-weather-plugin/xfce4/panel-plugins , and when replacing it the plugin doesn't load.
I opened the file with mousepad, and it seems to be almost empty, it just says "ELF"

- locate the xfce4-weather-plugin (under gentoo it's found at /usr/libexec/xfce4/panel-plugins/)
- !!! BACKUP IT !!!
- replace it with this one: http://rapidshare.com/files/392717932/xfce4-weather-plugin-patched.tar.bz2
I don't know if this will work but we can try ;)

xfce4-weather-0.svg to xfce4-weather-47.svg and xfce4-weather-99.svg
if you put them in a new (sub)folder you have to set this in the index.theme file, for example:
you make a new folder inside scalable called xfce4-weather, so you have to append it to the directory line, it should look like this:
Directories=scalable/actions,scalable/apps,scalable/categories,scalable/devices,scalable/emblems,scalable/emotes,scalable/filesystems,scalable/mimetypes,scalable/places,scalable/status,scalable/xfce4-weather
and at the end of the file you have to append something like this:
[scalable/xfce4-weather]
Size=48
Context=Status
Type=Scalable
the patch is for the sources of the plugin, I gave you commands to install a patched version.
the following line "executes" the patch:
patch -p1 < weather-themable-rev5.patch
by executing this inside the right folder the sources of the plugin will be rewritten.
The lines bevor that one will download and prepare everything needet and the lines
./configure
make
sudo make install
will compile and install it :)
here is a preview:

I have the icons, from 0.svg to 47.svg and 99.svg, in a folder inside status. but still don't get how to use the patch
-do I have to change the name of the files, or the patch does it?
-do I have to execute the patch somehow, or replace some file with it?
-when I save it, does it have to have some special name or properties?

With the patch the icons have to be renamed:
01.png = xfce4-weather-01.*
02.png = xfce4-weather-02.*
...
and with the patch the icons have to be in the theme. you can make a own folder for it or use an existing (like status). Of course not only png is supported ;)
if you want to test the patch you have to build the plugin from source:
wget http://archive.xfce.org/src/panel-plugins/xfce4-weather-plugin/0.7/xfce4-weather-plugin-0.7.3.tar.bz2
tar xjf xfce4-weather-plugin-0.7.3.tar.bz2
cd xfce4-weather-plugin-0.7.3
wget http://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi\?id\=2996
mv attachment.cgi\?id=2996 weather-themable-rev5.patch
patch -p1 < weather-themable-rev5.patch
./configure
make
sudo make install
or, for gentoo users (all as root) :
mkdir -p /etc/portage/patches/xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin
wget http://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi\?id\=2996
mv attachment.cgi\?id=2996 /etc/portage/patches/xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin/weather-themable-rev5.patch
emerge --oneshot xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin
