Description:

Just playing with gimp :)
I made the background and I added the mountains, the birds and the penguin.
To finish I gave an appearance of oil painting.

I like both versions, but the first one with the shadows behind the birds a little more. Somehow it instantly reminded me of the movie "The Truman Show" where Truman sails and suddenly reaches the end of his world. There also birds would have made such shadows on the sky/wall. And I like that it stresses the surrealism.

Two comments.

1) The birds shouldn't have 'shadows' as they are in the sky, and besides, the shadows are between them and the sun, which isn't possible.

2) Place the sun and birds in the first 'third' of the sky (to the left).

Other than that, it's a nice composition.

I know about the shadows but I made this error intentionally. I did not want the birds are a part of the picture. The shadows of birds in the sky are illogical and that's what I wanted (hihihi)
But your observation is very good and I will possibly add a second image but without the shadows of birds ;)

The second image, with the bird shadows removed and the moon/birds moved into the 'first third' looks very good. Nicely done.
