Ubuntu Globe
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
My 1st Ubuntu Wallpapaer. Art with hands' knot and globe taken from some picture (downloaded via DC++, if you know author - give me a shout), added a bit"modified" white/gray logo.
Actually I think it is nice furthermore it fits exactly to what I wanted to have on Desktop. Coresponds with my theme, Details on theme and screenshot soon).

I'm sure that's not what you meant, but why leave it more likely to be interpreted that way? I'm sure you are anything but racist.

Your comment makes no sense my friend. Switching the hands based on skin tone has zero effect on your comment.
If you find this to be a racially charged image then you need help.
To the poster of the image, great work! I would suggest working on your image masking as the edges are a bit soft.
Keep it up!

Also, I think it would be better if the globe on the hands was a physical map and not a political one. The spirit of ubuntu seems to be better reflected by "everyone together in a community in this world" rather than "a community still divided by nations."

I would suggest you make the ubuntu logo somewhat smaller, so it doesn't look that dominant. Kind of like the gnome foot in that gnome vista wallpaper: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=28022
I guess it would look a bit simpler then, and simplicity is IMHO always a good thing for wallpapers. Or maybe you could make a version without the text and only the logo.
A bigger resolution like 1600x1200 would be nice, but I don't know what you can get out of that base picture you were using.
Did I mention that I love it? ;)

We'll see how far we can go with Res. And I will look at logo too.
I am intending to play around with colors - not all people like blue, ;-), but everything in right time.
Keep going then.
