Description:

MurrinaCrystal theme, based on the great murrine engine (SVN) only.

Please leave a comment if you must vote bad, so that I can improve it, thanks in advance!

Note: The latest Murrine engine from SVN/GIT or Ver. 0.90.2+ is highly recommended!

Thank Suraia for packing the murrine engine (svn) for ubuntu.

And for Archers, you will find gtk-engine-murrine-git/gtk-engine-murrine in the AUR/Community repo.

18/3/2009 Quick fix for SVN 168 & Ver. 0.90.2. Focus color enabled.

1/1/2009 Added another choice for curve lovers. Darkened GtkToggleButton a little bit.

well... ehm... to be honest: i dont know how to contribute your work to the wiki of the ubuntu-artwork-team. i am really stupid when it is about technical things. is there someone who could do that? COULD SOMEONE SHOW THIS THEME TO THE UBUNTU-ARTWORK-TEAM???

i was able to sent your theme to the mailing-list of the ubuntu-artwork-theme. i hope it works and it reaches them. i am sure they will like it.

It should work on any system as long as you have the latest murrine engine (svn) installed.
I've no idea if Cygoku's pkg can be installed on ubuntu 8.04.

The engine packed by Cygoku definitely does not work on Ubuntu 8.04.

Well, how about compiling the engine yourself, it's not difficult.

Download all the files and folders from here ---> http://svn.gnome.org/svn/murrine/trunk/ (ex: ~/Desktop/murrine)

find an install.sh script. (There is one in aurora engine source package here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aurora+Gtk+Engine?content=56438)
put it into murrine folder

then,
1. sudo apt-get autoconf
2. sudo apt-get libtool
3. sudo apt-get intltool

after this, in terminal go into murrine's source folder,(ex: ~/Desktop/murrine)
first input 'autoconf' (this will create a configure script).
then, './configure (generally --prefix=/usr, try --enable-animation); make ; make install'

this worked for me with Hardy 8.04.

what happend to the window-color in the human-version? the old one was muuuuuuuuuch better. this is just gray and feels much colder

Hello, I just want to use an orange-family color, it looks not so warm-ish because the saturation is kinda low.
Here are some choices: #E6E0D8, #E6DFD6, #E6DED4, #E6DDD1, #E6DCCF.
Please have a try and tell me your choice.

well the old color was the best, but if i had the choice from the colours from you recommended, than i think this one was the best of them: #e6dbcf
but it has a sooooooooft pink touch. thats the negativ about it.

Here is a construction suggestion for the Human version. Selected item text should stay black instead of white because the selected color is very light and does not contrast enough for a good viewability.

This is a great gtk-Theme. It would be even more great if the toolbar was skinned
like the toolbar in Ubuntu's "Glossy", so the nautilus or firefox toolbar is not just grey...

Glossy toolbar, yeah I can do it.
Some one said it's better to have a scrollbar-ish face, what do you think?

I think scrollbar-ish would overdo it.
Just white with a slight light grey gradient (like in "glossy") would do it, so the toolbars don't look that old school. IMHO it would match the theme perfectly.
