Hi, it's really great theme. Thank you.
But unfortunately I have some difficulties with configuring it on Arch Linux
1. customize.py does not start at all. When I'm trying to start it, there is simply no reaction. So it's not possible to configure the theme.
I'm new to Linux, I installed Gnome and Compiz. And I think Compiz works properly (except I have the message when ccsm starts "No sexy-python package found..."), but may be there is something else I have to do?
2.Breadcrumbs
I have read all previous messages, but I still don't understand what should I do?
I would appreciate any help.

In Arch, python is a link to python3.

You need to edit the python script: replacing /usr/bin/python with /usr/bin/python2

Nicest theme I've seen for gnome in my life so far. I'm currently using it and I love it quite much. Thanks for creating and sharing for free. The installer and readme make it very easy to use. Zet em op ;-)

I have installed murrine from the fedora repository (version: 0.98.1.1-1.fc14). Apparently it does not work correctly with this theme, see the error message I'm getting: http://pastie.org/1639996

First, I don't have gksu, but the more interesting part is murrine complaining about a feature. After I close the customize script and reselect the theme in apperance prefs, nothing changes.

Great theme, thank you for your work!

I've installed it in Ubuntu and got it mirrored right-to-left. Not only buttons minimize/maximize/close are at the left side, but the dark part of window frame with the window's name at the left size too. How can I change it to look like in your screenshots? (I can change buttons position with gconf-editor in metacity properties, but that's all I can :( )

Hello friend!

I'm asking your authorization to modify your theme for Brazilian teams themes. But don't worry, I'll put you as the official author and editor of the new ands modified Brazilian teams themes.

Thank you for your attention and understanding.

Hello, great work.
But i wonder how to change the color of top_left-2.png, title-right.png and so on...
The grey part in window decoration.

Probably easy to change, but cant find the right color code to change

As they are PNG pixmaps you will have to change them in an image editor like GIMP. The files will be in ~/.emerald/themes/A-New-Hope

Hi, first thank you for this theme :)

For the problem:
When I install the theme (with customise.py) I have an error with Murrine:

/usr/share/themes/Impression/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:802: Murrine configuration option "profile" is no longer supported and will be ignored.

here is a screenshot
http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=620286ScreenshotANewHopeFileBrowser.png

(I have manually install the breadcrumb in .theme)

I have this error to :

First off, just have to say I love this theme.

Having said that, here comes the problem. Customize.py just doesn't work for me. I click on it and customize the theme and click okay. It prompts me to change the theme and then back again. Which I do but it doesn't chance anything. Any suggestions?

You have to run the .py file from within the directory it's held in. What I did, is I made a shortcut in my Preferences folder, which runs this command:

bash -c 'cd /usr/share/themes/A-New-Hope/; ./customise.py'

That changes to the proper folder, then runs the file.

I then changed the icon to the icon provided in the same folder, and gave it a name, etc.

This solved that problem for me :)

In Nautilus I found another bug which is probably not fixable. If the window height is too small to fit the contents of the "places" a scrollbar will appear. The scrollbar has a greyish background in stead of a darker one.
It's probably not fixable unless you make the right-hand side of the nautilus window also have dark backgrounds.

Hi,
You could add instructions how to make the synaptic package manager also look like this as well. Usually, after the installation of this theme, synaptic looks grey.. and sort of ugly.
The instructions to correct this are:
sudo ln -s /home/<insert your username here>/.themes /root/.themes
sudo ln -s /home/<insert your username here>/.icons /root/.icons
sudo ln -s /home/<insert your username here>/.fonts /root/.fonts

Love the theme. Its really really slick. There was just one thing I couldn't work out. My apologies in advance if I missed a step; I'm quite new to Ubuntu.

I thought the mouseover actions for the window titlebar buttons were letting the theme down. I seem to get ugly squares when using emerald theme manager. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 desktop and have installed the Murrine engine.

I thought it was good that you included commands to install Murrine. I thought it would be useful to include something more about making the emerald --replace persistent, I used compiz (ccsm)? Not sure if this is the source of my prob.

thanks for the help and the great theme.

Hi, you did a great job.

You should create a GDM theme and plymouth, that would be awesome.

Hi again,

Still very happy with this theme! I did however notice a small displacement of the arrow in the Nautilus-Elementary breadcrumb as can be seen on the screenshots. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10.

Make sure "Show like Breadcrumbs" is checked
ALT + F2 to open a run dialog and enter: nautilus -q
