Quickly hide all desktop mess
Useful also hide files censured.
Easy take snapshots without having to move files.
Without the bugs removing the icons kde desktop if using compiz, with the possibility of keeping the icons needed.
Plus a myriad of things that only knows who uses. (translate by Google)

Ive been tinkering with an idea of having optional desktop icons modes. Instead of just having a single layout of everything mixed as we do now how about a switcher. Lets say today Im doing office work so I have all the company file icons on the desktop. Then later I decide to play some media so I swap to media mode and all my media file icons and apps are shown on the desktop. With laptops becoming more and more prevalent having all the icons piled up on your desktop can be very wearing. Using menu's is also not a fix either and not everyone has a preference for using CLI.

It is a good idea. I think a way to put us 2 or 3 layout of icons.
