Yeah and there is some *.rpm packages for other distros, not sure if they suitable for you, but try googling "gtk-kde4".

Thanks for this excellent app!
The only problem is that it does not run on 64BIT KDE...
Even forcing to accept the 32bit architecture the problem persists...
Please do something to run this marvelous app on 64BIT!
64bit is the future after all and more and more people use it.
Especially in stronger computers...

Did you try to compile it?

actually no...
I have accustomed in using deb packages or ppa and I have forgotten how to do this...(it was a long time ago...)
Can you help me showing the concrete steps?
Have you tried this?
Does it work this way?

Hi. First of all I have to say, I love this package. It's the only way GTK apps can look nice in KDE4, when coupled with qtcurve.

I've recently installed KDE-4.5 beta 1. I don't know whether it's the System Settings' new layout or what, but I no longer see the options for changing the GTK style when I go to Appearance. Current gtk-kde4 settings are working though.

Another thing I noticed is that Eclipse now crashes when trying to open certain treeviews in the navigator pane. I wanted to try out and see if QTCurve was causing this, but I haven't been able to because of the above. It doesn't happen under fluxbox though.

Cheers, keep up the good work! :)

First of all thanks for a good app, gtk in kde is ugly by default, and you fixed it ;)

Secondly, i discovered a bug, altho its a small thing, it messes up when one tries to change font to something other then "sans serif 10".

Anyway, patch is here: http://dev.slackverse.org/patches/kde4-gtk-0.9.4_fix_bad_quotes.patch

It's pretty much self-explainatory, so i don't think i need to go into details :)

Keep up the good work, cya!

Really, I have some code cleanings and bugfixes for now, but I want a major feature to make the release. What do you want to see in the new version?

It worked for me until kde sc 4.3.4, but since arch updated to kde 4.4, sometimes theme's are applied, sometimes they're not. In google chrome sometimes the standard theme kills even plasma, and anything opened from daisy plasmoid or gmail plasmoid won't follow the setup theme, uses default instead. I can see in the repos, that it wasn't updated since january, it should have a maintenance for kde 4.4

How did you get a screenshot where the GTK+ theme used your system colors? I'm using the color theme Obsidian Coast but the colors are not adopted by GTK applications when using your theme.

Hi, how can i erase completely this package from my system? I used an arch package, kdemod-extragear-gtk-kde4, and not only looks terrible, (far worst than the qt engine) but upon removal, i get stuck with the style. I install the engine and change themes, but no matter what i try i am stuck with the "current theme" from your theme. And please don't feel insulted, this package works great with oxygen/nitrogen, but not with bespin. With bespin, all scrollbars are broken. Now i wnat to regain the config i had before, with gtk-qt-engine, and i must ask, what must i remove? Where are the leftover config files that keep me from using th e engine?
Thanks in advance.

Hello! You are right about bespin drawing with gtk-kde4 - it's rather ugly. I'll try to fix it with some great improvement, but it will be later. And about removing: you are right here too. I had to make normal removing, but I just forgot about few things. Ok, here is an instruction: remove ~/.icons/gk4ico and ~/.themes/qt4 .Then remove <kdehome>/shar
e/config/gtkrc and <kdehome>/share/config/gtkrc-2.0
<kdehome> may be found by: kde4-config --localprefix

Yeah, and thanks for criticism, i'll try to make my app better.

Thanks for the answer in short notice. And merry christmas, Hannukah or Festivus, or any winterfest you celebrate. Actually, I installed the aurora engine and must i say, looks sweet. matches my colors and looks very nice. BUt is nice to know how can i choose between your app or the qt-gtk engine. I have tremendous respect for people who develop software, and you are not the exception. Your app is quite great, tough currently doesn't look so good with bespin, is in general terms, the best gtk integration i have seen so far. The only thing i can add... for my taste, icons look a little too big. And i dont know why, my gtk apps don't use the icons in my icontheme/apps. Not quite sure it has much to do with your app, but in any case, keep up the good work.

Hi, I have tried symlink.sh, and found that
ln -s ~/.icons/gk4ico /root/.icons/
in the last line, seems to have to be
ln -s ~/.icons/gk4ico /root/.icons
so that the linking operation of the directory can be successful :-)

Hi I'm eager to try your package, hoping that root applications can be affected too (not with kcm-gtk, disappointing). However, the downloaded 0.9.1.1 package only has a 605.8 KB size, not 726 KB mentioned, and cannot be installed either by gdebi or by KPackageKit. Could you help confirm the package? Thanks!

Hehe, the updated 0.9.3 Ubuntu package is not complete for download again (what I downloaded is of only 272 KB), could you check it out? Thanks a lot :)
