Description:

It's a nice grafical splash screen for LiLo.

It reproduces the Matrix movie scene in which Morpheus gives the 2 pills to Neo. In the movie Morpheus says: "Remember...all I'm offering is the truth. Noting else." offering the pills to Neo.
"Free your mind" is the phrase that Neo says before jump.

Is it cool, isn't it?


HOW TO INSTALL: see the readme-install_xx.txt file inside the .zip file.

***IMPORTANT!!!******************
For version 0.2 (current): I changed the position of the text "Free your mind in: " and some color. So you have to use the configuration lines that other_color.txt contain.

I add, the lines

bitmap = /boot/handy_128.bmp
bmp-colors = 38,0,53,112,38,25
bmp-table = 114p,347p,2,7
bmp-timer = 470p,336p,25,0,11

I do lilo, and this is functionning, but Do I like know which are values in bmp-colors, bmp-table and bmp-timer for I modify this bootsplash?

My version of linux is Slackware 12.1, but I don't known which lines add to lilo.conf, for to obtain is greath graphical boot, please help me

hi there.
i instaled this lilo botloader, but all i have is new chose system menu.
and when i chose linux i have default green boot loader opensuse 10.3
why is that? :(

when i add the lines in lilo.conf and type lilo in the console i got message that says "bitmap" and "message" have some problem....

actual message is:
Fatal: 'bitmap' and 'message' are mutually exclusive

Actually there already exists a GRUB version ... I made one some time ago and posted a link in this comment section.

I decided to make a grub version of this. It doesn't look quite as good because of the 14 color limitation, but you can find it here:

First off: GREAT BootSplash =D
My Problem:
I am trying to change the text color in lilo bootloader.
Here's the value: bmp-colors=255,51,0,102,102,102 # text color
I'm trying to make orange text, with a dark gray highlight.
Because the default for this is apparantly pink.
I know it's worthless as tits on a nun, but I'm sick of the pink.
I *thought* that the values, 255,51,0,102,102,102 were some kind of 'double rgb' value.
Like, the first 3 sets of numbers are for text color, and the last 3 are for highlight.
Tested this theory and apparantly it's wrong

this is not a splash screen for kde but for a bootloader like grub or lilo

good work! this splash image looks amazing.
sadly i've realized grub (0.95+cvs20040624-3) is able to handle image files (.xpm) with max 14 colors only.
so i had to modify your image slightly:
- reduced rgb to indexed palette with 14 colors (used Floyd-Steinberg Color Dithering Algorithm with reduced color bleeding) in grub-version only ... uhh that's ugly :-/
- substituted tux with "official" linux2.0 tux by Larry Ewing (http://www.isc.tamu.edu/~lewing/linux/)
- removed text (everybody can easily put his own message in there ...)
i'm currently working on a matrix background and looking for a "cooler" windows-logo ;-P
do you have a high resolution file showing the hands only ... and are willing to post it? the result would be much better ...
