I wonder why there's an esound dependency:

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libesd.la'

I have no esd installaed, and I will not install it. I even don't use arts. Is it possible to compile klicker with direct ALSA- or even better JACK support?

Not at present. It's possible to use the internal speaker now, but there's no way to turn off aRts support.

Compiling KDE without aRts is rather difficult, so I made the assumption that those who were using this app would have aRts. But since apparently that isn't always the case, I'll give some thought to how to fix that. I'm wondering if I just need to remove aRts support entirely - it only seems to cause trouble.

So the short answer is, look for something in the next release - and I'll try to take less than two years to bring it out.
