Description:

Kompare is a utility for comparing files and viewing unified diff files (patches).

It can either be used as a standalone application, or embedded in another application - e.g as a patch viewer in konqueror (screenshot 2) or in KDevelop.

Kompare is part of the KDE SDK package, and it is released at the same time as the rest of KDE SDK and KDE.

Text search (CTRL-F) would really be useful for big files.

Text selection + copy+paste for the main window would also be nice.

(Text selection works in text view + copy via middle mouse button)

Hello,

Kompare is really nice, with a better GUI (IMHO) than kdiff3.

There's one thing however that I miss: the possibility to select the text, to do copy and paste.

Could it be possible to add this feature?

the software is great as long as u use it with english-only files

Using kompare to apply changes to any utf-8 file will scramble all non-english characters in it!

I still have kdiff3, but I feel kompare has a really nice GUI

Great ! Kompare is now able to show diff at char level. It's usefull to show quickly correction in a text.
