Description:

Myinfo is a quick little app I created a while back and decided to share. Quit often help desk style persons need to ask some basic info about a box that many non technical users don't know how to find, and the technical users do know how to find but may need root access in order to find it.

Given that I put together 2 small apps one that uses zenity or kdialog (whichever one it finds ) the other is straight CLI (for use in an ssh session for example) Untar it in your home directory and it puts everthing in a dir called bin.

Possibly.... however It was causing us enough of a headache getting this kind of info from people that this little app seemed to solve it for us. We found it useful, I thought others may as well. BTW it also works on that other Desktop too, and in a text only environ.

well, you're right - its easy, small and usefull...

actually such a thing should be included by default on GNU/Linux :D
