Same problem with this version. I guess I'll wait until somebody writes a *real* Beagle client for KDE.

A Beagle client without interfacing Beagle? Stop trolling.

Thanks to screemo's post, I was able to get things to build correctly (on Debian unstable -- Kanotix) and install. I didn't realize I'd need so many devel files installed, but was able to track them down with the helpful error messages (by no means common). I'm liking this application much more than the default Best. Thanks!

A way to see where the found File is in the directory.
Searching for "PDF" shows many
Doxyfile.global files in Directory admin which is not very helpful because they are all in different subdirs.
Maybe a statusbar which shows the whole link could help. Like in Konqueror

The make failed until I installed libkonq4-dev (Debian). Shouldn't the ./configure catch that?

Hi,

When I open a mp3 audacity is launched. I have amarok as my default audio player.

Similar problem here: noatun is being launched even though amaroK is the default.

How does Kerry open files? Using the KDE setting or using internal defaults? Is it only audio files which suffer this problem?

I've done some tests, and Kerry seems to be fine with other files. I tried using kcontrol to change plain text files to open in kedit, then changing it back to kwrite, and Kerry changed it's behaviour appropriately, without having to be restarted.
So why does it have issues with MP3 files?

To compile this on FC5, do the following:

1) yum -y install libbeagle-devel
2) unpack source
3) export LIBBEAGLE_LIBADD="/usr/lib/"
4) ./configure --with-extra-includes=/usr/include/libbeagle/beagle

Hope this helps someone out there :)

is a stop button to stop the search and something like a progress bar. This moving circle in the bootsplash would be nice.

I really like the idea of providing applications to access the beagle serach natively in KDE.

As a wish: add support for a search field in kicker - just like the google search stuff for Windows. That would be the killer featuer of kerry for me :)

Hello,

the shortcuts (e.g. F12) are hardcoded! Although you can configure them, the changes are lost in a new KDE session.

For Gentoo, I provided a patch to disable at least the F12 key, as it inhibited any activation of yakuake (but other software too, e.g. Xgl's exposé like task switcher), but it only removed the shortcut code for F12 at all, so I do not post it here.

A better solution, respecting the configured setting and make it persistent, would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have beagle-2.2.0 but I still get this error:

checking for libbeagle-0.2.0 (at least 0.2.0)... not installed
configure: error:
Please install libbeagle-0.2.0

Wrong version?

Thanks

You probably need dev packages to compile it, libbeagle sounds like a runtime library.

Hi

I tried kerry and have to things to say:

1) the window with search results is huge for me - am using 800x600 resolution and the window doesnt fit well

2) search results arent readable for me, becouse too small fonts are used ( I mean deskription like pages, edited, title, author)

where can I set fonts to be bigger? Thanks

you have to patch it to get bigger fonts ( I guess 11 will be a bit big for you but you can change it manually in the patch to what ever other size ):
