Please stay on windows or rethink the distribution model. Closed down code is dead,unportable and untrustworthy. Talk to RMS, should further questions arise.
We have Handbrake which pretty kicks butt both in functionality and license(GPL). So if you wish, you can contribute to it, we would be really thankful.
