these sound fantasic but....
20 seconds for a startup sound? It better start when I push "power" rather than when aRts decides to load :)

Yea, and there's only space for about 2 seconds at the most before arts is shutdown with the rest of KDE, in my case.

Yep, would be nice if arts would start at the beginning of login. But thats probably not so easy...

Maybe I find time to have a look :-)

Nice work. However a little comment on your submit would be good, to tell people what this is. E.g.:

This contains two sounds in OGG format: a Kde startup and a Kde shutdown sound.
