The Adobe Icons Project
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
I loved Adobe's icons for their Creative Cloud apps and wanted similar ones for GIMP and Inkscape. But after a long and fruitless search, I just decided to make them on my own. Looking at response for the first two icons, I have added 8 more creative apps to the project.
The icons are in SVG and in case you're not a Linux guru, I have included simple and detailed instructions (for Ubuntu) for replacing the current icons with these cool new ones!
I want feedback! If you want different colors or different alphabets in the icons, just let me know here or via Twitter. (twitter.com/TheRohitAwate)
If nothing, just tweet me a screenshot of your desktop rocking these icons! ;)
Disclaimer:
1.) I am not associated with Adobe in any way.
2.) SVG icons only work for Linux. If you want these for Windows (which uses the .ico format) or Mac (which uses the .icns format) you'll have to convert the SVG to the required format. There are a lot of articles out there that will help you do this.
3.) The bundled instructions were tested on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and should work for other versions as well as for derivatives of Ubuntu like Mint/Elementary.

Yes I'll be expanding this project further.
Loved the article! Though the real motive of making these icons was to mimic Adobe's mnemonic logos. I loved the Mendeleevian part though!

And yes, I'll be expanding this project further. I have FontForge, Pitivi, and Lightworks in mind. Any other suggestions?
