Poppy OS X Revieve

GTK3 Themes

Description:

Port of latest version of my Poppy (earlier Ubuntu) OS X theme for 14.04 Unity to 17.04 Gnome.

Now in development state.

Thank you all who leave a positive feedback, it's really motivating to work not just only for myself! :)

And need to say: I'm proud of myself. Didn't see any OS X theme for linux that have so good quality, even for it's own presentation. If you think that I just self-praise - there is a reason, right?

THIS THING HAVE SOME REQUIREMENTS ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN READ IN MY GITHUB REPO README.

9 GTK Theme is great, though maybe some more polish. Gnome 3 theme looks cool, but I don't like it taking over dash-to-dock and putting the old 3D flat dock. (It's nice, but can that be optional?) Excellent overall +1

Hey @kayover when I right click, the menubar font is to big (for me). So...please in the next update fixed it, Just look in the section "MENUBAR" to change font weight and size, line number (3685-3686) gtk.css file.
I get change it like this:
font-weight: 300;
font-size: 12px;

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem here: font-size is way to big on context-menu's.

Using font-size within a theme conflicts with the user-defined font-size. Also the sort of font used has a major influence , Next, even if you use the gnome-desktop, it differs depending on the distro and on the use of X11 or wayland as the compositor.

So basically I tend to stay away from using a fixed font-size in a GTK.CSS

I think the problem arises because you define a font-family: Myriad Set Pro and a font-size and font-weight to go along with it. But if you have not installed this font, it will not recognize it and replace it with the default-font. Which, in this case is allot bigger...

>it will not recognize it and replace it with the default-font

I know, it's the one of requirements of my theme. As I say "it's on people mind" to install all the thing correctly.

User defined font size is the thing that I can't control, it's on people mind to make their font preferences look like this: http://storage1.static.itmages.ru/i/17/0905/h_1504614979_4811227_07efa33a1e.png

And I didn't tried it on any other distro/DE so can't tell anything but that letting font size or family alone is making menus and some other elements unMac'ish look.

Popup menu font is normal for me, I have 1366x768 resolution screen. Even if it looks big in some way, the one in OS X works the same (I tried with many screenshots, compared mine menus and original one's, height of highlighting is 19px). Only one difference that in mac font is slightly bolder.

Look at this: http://storage8.static.itmages.ru/i/17/0917/h_1505654466_9216521_268815c243.png

In the desktop area, Right click is normal to for me.
But (I mean) when you right in some places eg; File manager area or Gedit area, The menu font is so big. So....why I get tweaked little bit like my comment above....And it's works for me :)

Desktop area? Gnome-shell or what? Fonts are identical for gnome shell and typical menus, so don't know what the fuck is going on for you.

Just look at in line "menu menuitem" bla bla bla.....
you will get a font config in there and font size (in my cases) is to big when I open context menu or when I open Gnome Tweak-Tool menu item (Choose icon, theme, cursor etc) the font popup in context menu is to big. So.....I comment out a font config in your css file in the section "menu menuitem" its works for me.
I hope you can understand what I mean, thanks!

Did you read install notes? Font sould be too big only in one case, when you didn't read description and didn't make things it say.

Totally beside the point perhaps but what is 'revieve'? Do you mean revive or revival?

Not sure about this, english is not my native lang. Maybe both. Anyway I named it like this because it sounds good and fits within the meaning. I could name it 'Restoration' too, but is it good?

Lol! Restoration doesn't sound good.. I think what you meant is "Revive" which is synonym of "Restoration to life"

I've been looking over your theme and noticed that - for the combo box -arrow - you use a double arrow-SVG. Which looks fine, but its fixed position is troublesome when the font is smaller or bigger than normal. It then gets out of its normal center place. If tried something similar and ran into the same issue. Unfortunately I couldn't come up with a decent solution, so I abandoned the idea.... Other than that, it looks promising. But still allot of ground to cover (for exa

I remember a bug that entrybox arrows is blurred when centered vertically, so I decided to give it a fixed pos. But now I think that I can fix this, thanks for reminding.

For most macish (as widgets can be resized by font and became not pixel-perfect) experience you should use this font settings: http://storage1.static.itmages.ru/i/17/0905/h_1504614979_4811227_07efa33a1e.png

Entry bg is fixed in not public (for now) ver.

What's thing with Firefox? I'm using Opera but looked at it and didn't find any problems.

You sure that window buttons are small? Can you screen' it?

Okay maybe it's designed to look like this then (It's not actually a problem but the look is just not good). Here's a screenshot: https://ibb.co/dbxSbv

I can't change this because I like menu in window's that look like menubar on top of the screen (firefox using it's bg).
