This thing hasn't been updated in like 3 years now, and I'm not sure how it was even usable back then. No contact lookups, so you have to rely on raw phone numbers. Lol! If anyone remembers phone numbers by heart anymore good for you but that's just kinda weird IMO. In any case, unusable for me. But it doesn't even work on the main bottom panel anyway, only on the desktop, and it's as plain and featureless of an interface as it gets. I would love for this to be built out more but it seems to be a dead project with almost no draw anyway.

I installed the plasmoid widget and put it in the panel. There was no icon. Clicking the space brought up what it was - but no option to sms!
I uninstalled and tried github.
git clone git@github.com:comexpertise/plasma-kdeconnect-sms.git
Cloning into 'plasma-kdeconnect-sms'...

Can this install as a pop out widget in the panel to be concealed until called upon? Can it be connected to Kaddressbook so as to click a number and have the kde sms widget pop up? Typing numbers that you have to look up means you will simply use the phone instead.
Good job - just needs the extra steps to be awesome!
Or am I an idiot who cannot install and use it right?
Thanks!

I have installed KDE-connect 1.0.3-2.1 but I cannot see any SMS information.
I clicked the "Download" tab and I got a zip file which I unzip but then I didn't know what to do.
I tried this command: kone1:~ # git clone git@github.com:comexpertise/plasma-kdeconnect-sms.git
but I got:Cloning into 'plasma-kdeconnect-sms'...
Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

and the repository exists.
Could some one help me, please.

You can install the plasmoid directly via the Discover app (Kubuntu) or :
1) right click on the desktop
2) Choose "Unlock Widgets"
3) right click on the desktop (again)
4) Choose "Add Widgets"
5) On the left side bar, click on the "Get new widgets" at the bottom
7) Search for "SMS" and install the "KDEConnect SMS sender (plasmoid)"

in this case :
- there is no icon in the bar, only a space
- if i click on this space then nothing happens
i must define a short cut as for example alt_S to open the window of plasmoid.

I was going to mention the need for contact integration but I see that you've mentioned it's a future feature.
In short I love it.

As a suggestion, integration with a Phone Book would make it invaluable.
Thank you so much.
