Oh yes!, can you guess/believe what that is? GIMP2Ps transforms GIMP app into a more Ps like looking app including keyboard shortcuts that many are accustomed to and rely on recognising instantly to get things done =)
Maybe you have been say dreamy about that other commercial gfx app or have used it a lot in the past but have issues getting used to shortcuts in GIMP being different? Guys, gals, I'm very proud to introduce GIMP2Ps package that I created.
I couldn't find mod that worked fine or didn't have some probs, I'm sharing one that will hopefully knock your socks off.
Made thinking about GIMP 2.10+ compatibility.
We recommend using GIMP2Ps-multi-tool for GIMP 2.10.18+

Don't forget to read ReadMe.txt, it describes how to use this.

Don't be shy, give it a try, hesitation isn't good for you, trust me, I'm your best advisor ;-). I believe in you capability to download and set it up, after all what have you got to lose, if you don't like it you can always bin it and once you change your mind, bring it back.

Modern GIMP 2.10.18+ has multi tool toolbox functionality onboard, I added package named GIMP2Ps-multi-tool-1 which is an updated version of GIMP2Ps that takes that into account

For those that tried to install this in Windows: it is a very easy copy paste operation.
Follow these steps:

1. Install a package manager that can extract "*.tar.xz" files (I did it with 7zip)
2. Once extracted, you'll have a GIMP2Ps folder. In that folder go into the subfolder "pslook-config"
3. Open another Windows Explorer window to the folder %appdata%\gimp
4. That folder has a subfolder "2.10". make a copy of that folder if you want to backup your original GIMP settings
5. Now go into the folder "2.10"
6. Copy all files and folders from the "pslook-config" folder to the "2.10" folder
7. Start GIMP, and you'll have the GIMP2Ps layout

I forgot: you'll, of course, have to download the GIMP2Ps.tar.xz package first, which you'll extract in step 2.

This doesn't work with CentOS 8, Gimp 2.18 (Installed via Flatpak).

Yeah, I looked on my and it's also like that, it's because this pack doesn't work with Gimp not in usual location, however you may try this: install Gimp like most would (you can uninstall later) or run live Linux distro with latest Gimp, run transformation pack and you should find Gimp's config in ~/.config/GIMP that you can copy and place where your Gimp config is supposed to be. I'll probably have a look too, Gimp 2.10.18 has some new features and I might need to change something to align, although I'm busy with couple of other things now :).

It hasn't been made with support for windows and I'm not planning to make a windows version. It's my personal effort that I kindly thought about sharing via FOSS means, I don't work for that guy, for you or for adjudicatory company to do as I'm told. Please read the disclaimer that is plainly available in the product's description, esp. it can be informative to read the part "This software/resource is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied", "Additionally, we make no warranty that: (a) This software/resource will meet your requirements, (b) This software/resource will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, (c) The results from the use of this software/resource will be effective, accurate or reliable, (d) The quality of this software/resource will meet your expectations". This guy was impolite, didn't ask me, a question ends with a question mark (?) and you can use "please" and "can you", I wrote it as it is and since I didn't announced anywhere that it will work for windows I consider this comment as downvoting and I'm reporting it.

Add Windows instructions to the readme.
Elaborate the current Unix instructions. It doesn't say where from you should run the commands.

It's not for dows, if someone can use it there, nice. A basic knowledge about how to run commands is necessary, it's very easy and straightforward, just looking at names after unpacking tells a lot, if you don't know how to run commands you should learn something, it wasn't made for peeps with subbasic or less knowledge, you are going to use advanced graphics editor so knowing more is also required.

Hey Markos! Nice job, looks clean and nice, but got some weird behaviour. When I run the script to copy the theme I can't go to fullscreen. Gimp only takes a part of the screen, there is no button that goes into fullscreen mode and when I press shift+f it only makes the window decorator disappear. Then I go to themes menu and the gimp's dark theme is selected instead of yours. When I select your theme gimp turns light (much more light than official gimp light) and the fullscreen button reappears. Then I select the gimp's dark skin and gimp turns to look the way it should be based on your pictures. I have to repeat the procedure every time I open gimp if I want to use your theme. Not a big deal indeed, but I felt like I should share it with you since you already did such a nice job. It's super erroneous behaviour, but I hope you got something from the description :) . I'm on mint 19.2 gimp 2.10.12

I checked and it doesn't seem to be so on mine, I saw maximize button disappearing although it got sorted out somehow with later dos, no errors as you wrote in settings, perhaps you upgraded in uncleanly way or have some overlapping PPAs?; I have latest Gimp using ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp. I also guess it could be because of the theme, maybe use different one than the one that comes with Mint, I'm not certain if it's written to be issue free, I's using:
Numix as window borders metacity theme
Miny-X-Aqua as controls theme,
all fine with this, I'm taking into account all the time that you use Cinnamon, no issues like you said, maybe see how some other themes cope if u don't like Numix. I updated GIMP2Ps to start GIMP maximized, that should be helpful as well.
Install fresh Mint, there's probably latest around to download as a resort to have clear situation :).

Hi Markospoko. First of all, excellent work!

Next, I have some info concerning the resize issue. I experienced it too on Ubuntu. The window resize button seems to disappear when the toolbox is too tall and its bottom falls outside of the screen. This can happen on screens where a 1-icon-wide toolbox doesn't fit the vertical size of the screen (due to its resolution). This seems to be default GIMP behaviour and is not related to your theme (I tested this with default GIMP settings too).
The fix is to resize the toolbox to 2 columns. Then it fits the screen and the window shows its resize button.

8 Oh yes! indeed. Before I switched to linux I used PS relatively often and I liked it. I didn't enjoy gimp very much because I didn't want to learn all keyboardshortcuts again and so on.
Today I found this piece of art and what should I say? I'm pretty happy now. You brought the fun back to my personal gimp-experience! Thank you!

GIMP's version was checked with aid of a utility coupled with GIMP, I have some obstacles at the moment checking if this utility should be normally a part of GIMP on Mint/Ubuntu and other Linuxes thus I changed it to base more on GIMP itself to get its version.

We should be ready now with this to go along with future GIMP versions, certainly it's still good for 2.10.x if you are unsure. Some user interaction may occur too so transformation is done more smoothly.
