This service has completely messed up my KDE neon installation, to the point of having to use Timeshift to revert. The first time I clicked "Open as root" in the service menu and entered my user password, nothing happened. The second time, it did work (opened a new Dolphin window as root). The third time, my plasma session crashed and most KDE settings were destroyed. Not good! (yes, I know what "root" means, I pretty much AM root in my whole LIFE :D so I didn't do anything that has to do with having "too much root". The destruction ensued merely after simply using "Open as root" three times, without doing anything else.)
Though this is sadly missing with KDE (the ability, for example, to open up your /usr/share/backgrounds folder and take out one or two naff wallpapers, making dolphin do things you otherwise must do in terminal...
This just didn't work for me. I browsed to /usr/share and selected 'open as root', entered password and ...... NOTHING happened.
