On mine it doesn't show like on your preview. The Date at the bottom left is partly out of the main box. By 5-6 characters too many on the left, so the day (Mon, Sat, etc.) is always outside and some characters as well.
I tried editing the xml config file and enlarging the width of the main box but it didn't change anything. Unless I need to send a command so that it keeps it in memory, I don't know.
So can the padding or X,Y of the Date section be changed? If yes how?
tnx

It works, I have changed from 240% to 300% and it's now indented to the right, great I can tweak other things if I want, now. :)
Easy to test, just log off session and you'll see the instant change!
This theme is so freakin' beautiful!!
tnx

But how surprising, after googling I was unable to install it.
I tried different things and editing kdmrc files as well, didn't work.
Tried also the following:
1:- sudo zypper in kdebase3-kdm (I already had the kdm package)
2:- extract 'NewEssenceFinal' into '/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/themes/'
3:- yast2 -> system -> sysconfig editor
3a:- navigate to 'Display Manager' then change 'DISPLAYMANAGER' field from 'kdm4' to 'kdm' (NOT kdm3!)
3b:- navigate to 'Display Manager' then change'DISPLAYMANAGER_KDM_THEME' to 'NewEssenceFinal'
4:- konsole and type 'kcmshell kdm'
I use openSUSE 11.2 64-bits.
What am I missing?
tnx! :)

this Kdm is only for KDE4.x.
I use Mandriva and to install it i have to extract the folder from archive and copy it to /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/

On 11.x versions, you have to extract the theme to /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes and then go to YAST, etc/sysconfig Editor, under Desktop>Display Manager>DISPLAYMANAGER_KDM_THEME and type in NewEssentialFinal.
Reboot. :)
