I just now downloaded the gurumaa fonts v. 1.30-1. In the change log it says that this font fall under the GPL category with font exception. But the license file in the zip file does not mention anything about the font exception. It is plain GPL V 2.
Can anyone please confirm if the gurumaa v. 1.30-1 comes with GPL and font exception ?

Excellent font. Only one suggestion. The word 'trayambakam' occurs in the Mrityunjaya mantra and not in Gayatri mantra.

2. typing text in KWord 1.3.x or 1.4.x
3. testing hi.wikipedia.org with konqueror.
The font is perfect here in slackware where I have "BYTECODE_COMPILER" enabled in freetype-2.1.7 and freetype-2.1.10.
You can see that exactly in the screenshot.
Please try compiling freetype with bytecode interpreter enabled. check freetype documentation. just remove /* and */ before and after "#define BYTE_CODE_INTERPRETER" in freetype-2.1.7/include/options/ftoptions.h
