Good job, the theme is great!

I have a question though. You have a folder view (that's a folder view, right?) with 7 icons, on the lower right side of your screen (Firefox, Thunderbird, Inkscape, the GIMP, Blender, Amarok and Konsole). I noticed that they have no text under them. How did you manage to disable the text there, but not for the folder view from the top of the screen, the one with many files?

Actually, that is the "Quicklaunch" plasmoid I am using in the lower right. It typically requires some fiddling to make it look right, but it does support dragging shortcuts from Dolphin & Kickoff (widgets must be unlocked for this to work). Highly recommended! =)

I love this theme! I used it for about 1,5 week until yesterday. Yesterday I upgraded to KDE 4.3, and noticed that your theme isn't compatible with KDE 4.3 :(:(:( Can you please make it compatible? Cause I really love your theme and want to use it again...

How is it not compatible? I designed this theme primarily on 4.3 RC1 & 2. Please be more specific as to the problem you are having and perhaps I can help. =)

Well, in KDE 4.2 I could install it via GHNS. But in 4.3 not and when I selected it (I had it installed after the upgrade because on 4.2 it worked) and it removed itself from the list. So that's what I thought it was not compatible. But I'm going to try now if it works when installing manually.

Ok, installing manually worked :) So on 4.3 you cannot install it via GHNS... :(

Well, oddly enough, it wasn't tarred properly. It appears to be working with GHNS now...and is also about 600k smaller. =)

There is one issue on OpenSuse 11.1, KDE4.3 - when shutdown/restart button is selected the confirmation window is only half shown, the other half is not available at all. Might be a Theme issue because other themes are are working fine.

Thanks for pointing this out! I'm looking into the issue. I would like to know if you are using the theme with compositing enabled or disabled as I have noticed some strange behavior with compositing turned off, however when it is enabled it seems to be working fine. Just want to know if it is the same issue I'm seeing on my end.

I like the direction your heading to with this, but it seems too distracting having all those glowing things on screen. IMHO a theme should compliment and enhance the users experience not distract them from what they are doing.

I'm really not trying to be critical because I do like the effect, I just think it could be used in a better way.

I can see how one might find it a bit distracting. I cannot say that I had complimenting & enhancing the user experience in mind when I created this theme. It's not like it's going to be shipped as the default KDE theme or anything lol. I'm just having a bit of fun with it and wanted to make something that looks cool. =)

Perhaps the effect could be used in a better way. However, I don't plan on making any drastic changes to this particular theme. I will certainly keep your opinion in mind if I decide to begin work on a "Ghost 2" or some such.

It's always nice to hear what others think about my work, be it good or bad...or both hehe. Thanks for your feedback!

You really did make something cool and pretty original, and I would like to see this or some version of this as a default theme with KDE.

There are way too many "corporate" looking themes for KDE already, and thats the only reason I made any comment about this at all.

because I could see this developing into something very unique to KDE .

d3... if you don't like it please use another theme. Personally i love it, the glowing corners and stuff are much more fun than the plain themes. Finally an unique approach of what a theme finally should be, very original.

Same with taskbar tooltips, some stuff in kickoff, and notifications in the systray.

Maybe it's the same color problem with the theme and kde 4.2, but I'm not sure.

Yes I'm sure it is the same issue, but honestly I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't display properly on 4.2. I'm baffled.

I would recommend just removing Ghost manually and try to reinstall it. Maybe the colors file got corrupted or something.

First, switch to another theme besides Ghost

Type into a terminal:
rm -rf ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/Ghost

Clear the cache.

Then simply reinstall the theme and switch back.

You were right, the colors file was fucked up. I copied again, and works :D

The font in krunner (in the results) is still black, but all other problems are gone.

Nice! I'm glad that worked.

As far as Krunner goes...Krunner is tricky. I think most, if not all fonts in Krunner are determined by your main color-scheme, and not by the theme. So check your System Settings / Appearance / Colors and see if switching helps or not. Hope this works for you! If not then please take a screenshot of Krunner I can look at. =) I know for sure it works with Tragedy Black - http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Tragedy+Black?content=103332
