Klik interface mockup

Application Concepts by kasra23 13 comments

klik is really cool - but yeah, their site needs some redesigning.
When I saw your design I wanted to try making my own. Here it is:

Ok, some comments:
- OMG it's a deviantART ripoff!
True :/. I really like dA's design, it inspired me to do this. It's not ok? Then I'm sorry.
But I just want to say, that the colours should be like the colours shown in the picture! I don't know what colours klik "prefers", so I simply didn't add any colours.

- There are some problems with this design.
1. I don't know where to put the ads.
2. Stats/links? How should it look like - maybe in a table?
3. Logo?

- The "Download" icon is from the nuoveXT icon theme: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=26449 - Apr 09 2006

klik

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by probono 40 comments

Wow.

I never really cared about klik, it sounded just... too easy. However, today I visited http://klik.atekon.de/ and thought "Why not try it out?".

I did the installtion - omg, first good impression. No trouble at all, easy and fast. This is how it should be!
Tried to download a game. Nope, dependencies problems right? Whoa! The game started without a problem. It's just fantastic!

The only thing that I dislike is the desktop thing. It's ok to have as default, but I want them to go elsewhere. I tried to create the alterantive configure file, but it doesn't seem to work. :/

located at ~/~/.klikrc
-----------------------------------
# Sample ~/.klikrc file
# This is optional and not needed by most users

# The following line makes klik save cmg files
# in another directory instead of the default (desktop)
export DESTINATION=$HOME/Program/klik
-----------------------------------

I have just made a supid mistake somewhere, right? Please tell me where. And thanks for this awesome... thing. - Feb 27 2006

Various Stuff by maitre 12 comments

I should have waited to post the first post.
Well, I tried it out, and there is already a problem ;)
I use amaroK SVN, and it seems like there is a differens how the lyrics are shown. Now I get something like:

< lyrics title="TITLE" artist="ARTIST" >
LYRICS< /lyrics >

(There shouldn't be any spaces between " < " and "lyrics" and so on...)
Oh well, it's probable only because I use SVN. THere is another "problem", or rather a question: Can I remove the "Exit" button? - Feb 25 2006

System Software by Sho 1026 comments

I still don't understand how to set Bell to System Notification. Well, I know how to do it, but not how to get it to work; I can't hear anything then I should have. The other bells work perfectly. I looked in KDE Control Center, System Notifications, but couldn't find YaKuake. I set some sounds to Konsole, which works, but they still don't work for YaKuake.

Anyone who know how to fix it? - Feb 25 2006
Konqueror pathbar

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by mart 29 comments

However, there are some things that prevent me from using this:

- I have a filter field to the right of the default location bar. If I use pathbar, it looks pretty weird. I want the filter bar to be "fixed" in its position, but don't know how.
- You should be hide the "Show adressbar" button, and instead set a shortcut key.

First, great work! I really like deKorator, when I have tme I would like to try to make some themes. ^^
There is a small thing in 0.3's GUI I think could be inproved. Under "Colors" you can enable "Colrize frames" and "Colorize buttons". Under "Buttons", you can set custom button colors. However, you have to enable the Colrize frames" and "Colorize buttons", which IMHO could be a little bit confusing. - Feb 25 2006

Well, I think it's the new version that is the problem:

"note that the themes that worked with deKorator 0.1 wo'nt work under 0.2 so u need to port them, i've made a little script(portDek which located in the tarball package and on goodis dir at my homepage) that does it all for u and will port your 0.1 themes to 0.2 package format, just read the instruction inside the script before u porting it."

If you use an up-to-date amaroK version, you can simply install themes within amaroK (I think it's under Options->Appearance->Install Theme, choose the pack)
After it's installed, select it in the list.

Hm, the newest version support kgethotstuff ot whatever it's called, doesn't it? Then it's even easier :P - Jun 12 2005
