But now comes the problem. In my Menu in the section "Additons", I only find a button with "Change Configurator". I pressed this Button, but nothing happens. How to start this program "Cchange"?

Hi guy,

since yesterday, i upgraded to Luccid Lynxand can tell you, that the gtk-engine of your theme works well with it.

But one question: how can I get this nice Metacity you use in your screenshots? It isn't included in your theme.

Can you tell me which Metacity it is, so that I can finish-up this theme on my machine?

Thank you in advance for your message.

Finally I want to say: I love this theme and I successfully imported the Windows 7 icons from Karmic.

hey sapenella,

I have your icons working now for a while and love them really!! They are so beautyful, that I wanted to ask, if you could make the same icons in red color?? And when you make the upload here, could you also pack them into a .tar.gz-archive please?

Why I ask? Becaus I found the gtk and Windowborder for a red variation of the human theme here on http://gnome-look.org. Only these icons in red color would be misssing.

Could you consider this perhaps please? This would be kind from you.

Thanks in advance.

hi sakjur,

sincce simunic has now made a new version of his theme, i dropped your one, because I prefer the new simunic theme. It is what I was searching for long.
You should really think to make your theme more serious. This would only be a thing for Fasching here in Germany.

So please understand, that I won stay with your theme any longer.

Please could you make a more serious version of your theme?

thank you that you took your time to fix this nice theme!!! Big thanks to you!!! You got the bug fixed!!!

I could install it successfully now including the missing gtk and Metacity-Theme!!

Great artwork and is a color-variation to the Theme of LaGaDesk!! I love it and will always love it!! And do you know what? It also works with other red icons I have. That's the best on your nice theme!!

Thanks again and for your time and for your big understanding!!!

And then one question: may I add you as one of my friends?

Thank you for your instruction.

Now I want to know, if there will also be gold or silvery icons for this theme?
Why i aks for such colors? I have several nice Wallpapers, where gold or silver icons would fit very good to. And I am searching for nice Christmas Icons in gold or silver.

And could you please add such Christmas-Icons even for Apps like Firefox, Opera and Thunderbird please?

I together,
you are looking for a good gtk-theme to pair with this??
Then here are my suggestions:

Minsta-black Elegance Aero-Pack 3.1

Cobra-blue (also fits to Polaris-theme)

Divinorum-CyanMagenta-gtk

Leech (you will find it in Art-Manager in the section Art->Apps)

Tenebrific (even to be found in the same section of Art-Manager; you will find Art-Manager in Synaptic. The package is called gnome-art).

Nimbus

GTK2 Themes by MadMax2000 135 comments

hi together,

I have found an upgraded Repository for you.

It is here:
https://launchpad.net/~merlwiz79/+archive/nimbus

Klick on "Details about this ppa" to see the new lines to add into your soures.list.

That meens the following steps:
open a Terminal and type: sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list and enter your password.

Then your sources-list will appeare.

There, scroll completely down until you see the line with the nimbus-ppa with the ending: jaunty main. Delete this line from your sources-list. Then this line will be empty.
Then type: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/merlwiz79/nimbus/ubuntu karmic main. Then enter a new line and type:
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/merlwiz79/nimbus/ubuntu karmic main.

Then go to the button "save" in the Top-Menuline of your sources-list to save these changes.

Then close your sources-list and go back to your Terminal.

There type the following: sudo apt-get update and let it run through completely. Then repete this with this command: sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. Let this run through completely again. This will download the new version of this ppa including theme, gtk2-engines-nimbus andthe icons. Then this will be installed. Before it will be asked, if you want to install these changes. Confirm this with typing Y for yes.

When installation has completed, you can close your Terminal and enyoy the new version fo the nimbus-theme including the new gtk2-ngine.

Nimbus

GTK2 Themes by MadMax2000 135 comments

hey together,

I have tested the new gtk2-engines-nimbus, which are available on http://launchpad.net.

But I found, that this one is pretty buggy and only causes collission-errors between the icontheme itself and the new gtk2-engines-nimbus.

So the soluton is only, to use the one from Jaunty. And there is a good tutorial, how to install this nice theme in ubuntu. The tutorial can be found here:
http://www.ramoonus.nl/2009/08/02/howto-install-the-nimbus-theme-in-ubuntu/comment-page-1/

Try this, and everything will run well. I have also posted about the problem with this new gtk-engine. I hope, this will be fixed and I have also written a personal message to the author of this ppa. (he has a profil under the same name here:
http://www.linuxmint-art.org/content/show.php/Nimbus+GTK2+engine+(debian+packages+PPA)?content=97717

So I hope, that this error will be fixed somewhen. For this time, follow the instruction on the Link in this post to the tutorial

First let me say: I love your theme very much. For Installation it is necessary to unpack the 7zip-package, then go to the folder. There are three more folders with the themes. You need to put a copy of each folder to your desktop, compress each one and then drop into the Themes-Window. Also the icons are very lovely!!

But now I have one last question: how to install the start-orb?? It looks nice, but I don't know how to install them. Please give me a short help in this point.

Nuvola for Gnome

Full Icon Themes by dreambeaver 9 comments

Hi dreambeaver,

I just wanted to add, that this theme is already a gnome-Theme. Because you can also install it together with the package "gnome-themes-extras" in Synaptic.

But this package causes crashes of the humanity-Icon-Theme and I do not wwant this package. I only want the Nuvola-Theme out of it.

O please, put this theme here on http://gnome-look.org or on http://softpedia.com.

Then I think, you would have higher download-rates and many people are already looking for Nuvola.

Nuvola for Gnome

Full Icon Themes by dreambeaver 9 comments

Hi dreambeaver,

you ask for other server suggestions than rapidshare.
Here are my suggestions:
why don't you upload it directly to http://gnome-look.org? Or why don you use the server of http://softpedia.com?

These are public and free servers!! They do not charge as far as I know.

But Rapidshare charges you if you exceed a certain amount of downloads and wants you to pay!! This is not the sence of opensource-software!! So I won download this theme from Rapishare!

Please upload this theme directly to one of my suggested servers!!

This server-charging from Rapidshare is annoying!!

Oxygen-Refit 2 - Orange Version

Hi deviantdark, I have all these oxygenRefit-Icons in the offered colors (blue, red, green and orange) installed.

But now I am somehow missing such an icontheme in yellow color. Plese don remind me on these ugliy XP-Icons!! I do not love them.

I would prefer yellow oxygenRefit-icons.

So I want to ask, if you could do this icontheme also in yellow color?

For finishing, I want to let you know, that all these other mentioned icons are working fine and my Desktop (Gnome) looks nearly like the KDE-Desktop now (all Wallpapers are on my disk in original and in different colors). So i do not need to install KDE-Desktop.

Metacity Themes by sakjur 6 comments

Dear sakjur:

you ask for suggestions to make your theme more serious. Then I would have several suggestions:

the first thing to make better are the buttons. Please make normal buttons and not such funny figures.
Then you could darken the red color of your theme a bit like in the simunic-Theme. But the simunic-Theme is so buggy, that I cannot install it. As I have found out, the problems are in the gtk-engine of thie simunic-Theme. Perhaps you ccould make your theme look a bit similar to it. Then you could make a darkred-panel-color like in the red-glow gtk-Theme. This would make your theme a bit more serious and would even make it look better.

These were my suggestions. I'm interested how you continue to develope your theme. Keep us informed and tell us if you wish more suggestions.

Hi JPNeira,

And now I just donwloaded and installed your theme successfully and can confirm: it works!!

Then an additional question: could you make a nice Metacity-Theme for it? I have seen on your picture that you are using the Sonar-Theme from OpenSuse. I have it installed since a week now. But I prefer to use it with the original mint-Tango icons from the current OpenSuse-Release. Then I want to tell you, if you want the Icons from the current OpenSuse Release, you can either get them here in http://gnome-look.org or you can find them in http://softpedia.com in the subdirectory "Desktop-Environment".

Metacity Themes by plb 3 comments

Hi plb,

I have the same problem. I also can't install this theme.
I get this error-message: ".themes doesn't seem to be a valid theme".

I think, that there is something wrong with the packing of this theme.

I tried already the trick of unpacking and repacking. But unpacking this file also fails. But there, I don't get any error-message what seems strange to me.

Can it be possible, that this theme does not work together with ubuntu-desktop properly?

Could you please have a look and fix this package?

Metacity Themes by plb 2 comments

hey plb,

I had a look at your Metacity-Theme today. This thing would be, what I am searching for, for using it together with the desert icons (I have them already installed, but have no nice Metaccity-theme for them).
You asked also for some feedback.

So here is my feedback: this is a good start into the ritght direction. But could you mix a very bit of more occer-colour and yellowish sandcolour (similar to the desert icons) into the colour of your Metacity-theme, make the cormers a bit more round and make it work together with the desert-icons?
And could you - perhaps - in the end rename it as "Desert-Theme", correspon-ding to the desert-icons??

And could you publish a ppa-repository for Karmic Koala (Ubuntu 9.10) of it, when it is so far stable that it is usable?
This would be a thing like I would be searching for.

I hope, you are now not too angry with me for my feedback. But I believe - if you did these little changes - that your theme would get great resonance of your audience.

Thanks for your time and I am looking forward to the development of this theme.

Kind regards,

hello together,
as much as I like your theme. But the theme is still pretty buggy. It has problems with the gtk-theme. Every time, I install this theme, it gets in trouble with other themes already installed and will not be displayed correctly any more. It comes into conflict with the Azenis-themes and icons as well as with the slick-red-theme and the black-red icons. That's pretty anoying.
I think this has to do with a stability-problem.

Could you please fix up this error? Then I will try to install it on new bases.
