Yeah, none of us want video in the player. There's so many apps that do that well already. - Feb 06 2004

Sorry, 0.8.4 is not ready. The blurb is misleading, I'll try to get it corrected.

You can try cvs, amaroK is in kdeextragear-1. As said it requires KDE 3.2. - Feb 06 2004

Klik looks really interesting. I hope it continues to be successful for you and I look forward to hearing more about it. You were just linked on kde-core-devel if you don't know.. - Feb 01 2004

Sorry, I doubt we'll be implementing an alarm. There are many applications that already do this well! Why bloat amaroK with such a feature?

amaroK is good in other ways, honest! Why not d/l the source and try it out? - Jan 19 2004

amaroK prides itself on the fact that it uses KDE's widgets and has not gone down the oh-so-popular "skinning-engine" path. However, as you say, the colours are not the KDE defaults. But, amaroK wants to be a little different ;-) Current plans are to make all this more configurable so that it is perfectly possible to have amaroK themed exactly like the rest of KDE, or look a little different and a little more stylish.

Thanks for the kind words. - Jan 15 2004

In scanmanager.cpp there is a line ScanManger::wait(), on the line before is the keyword "inline". Remove the "inline" and recompile, it'll work.

This is fixed in cvs, I dunno why some people have this problem. GCC inlines the function too much it seems. I'm fairly sure it's a bug in gcc. * shrug * - Jan 11 2004

Can't find this library:

/usr/local/qt-copy1/lib/libqt-mt.la

notice the 1 after qt-copy? Maybe that's the problem. Check $QTDIR perhaps. If that's not the problem hopefully one of the other devels has more of a clue than me. - Jan 10 2004

Hi, you either forgot "make install", or installed to the wrong prefix. See where it is installed with `whereis filelight`; if it's not installed to your kde-prefix (check with `kde-config --prefix`) then you need to reconfigure/make like so:

./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` && make && su -c "make install"

as described in the INSTALL document.

The reason for the no toolbar/menubar is this is an XMLGUI app and requires that the xml files be installed in the standard KDE directories.

Cheers :-) - Jan 10 2004

As a part you can use it in Konqi and I'll ensure the standard context menu is displayed so you'll get the shred/delete options. I don't plan to add them to Filelight the stand-alone application, I have other features planned instead.

When I've separated the map in to its own widget it should be a drop in replacement for the treemap in kdirstat. Whether or not he makes it an option is up to the maintainer. - Jan 07 2004

I'm aware of the bug, as soon as I can figure out how to detect the absence of sincos() I'll fix it.

Any ideas?

It's easily fixed by separating sincos into two calls to sin() and cos(), next version I'll provide a separate source file for non-glibc users. - Jan 07 2004

Thanks for the feedback :)

Currently only the file:/ protocol is supported. But, like you, I do want Filelight to be network transparent. The only reason it isn't is because I thought I could make scans quicker using gnu stat instead of KIO. I now am of the opinion that KIO is just as quick so I'll switch the code over at some point. - Jan 06 2004

My plans are to get it into 3.3. It's in kdenonbeta/filelight currently.

I'd like to enhance it a bit and perhaps make the kfreespace /dev/hd* thingy obselete by making a frontpage which summarises free device space. Then I'll see if people would like that in kdeutils for 3.3.

Otherwise it may be limited to kdeaddons to complement FSView, providing I get the go-ahead.

Hope so. I think it'd make a good "wow!" for KDE myself since the maps look quite impressive :) - Jan 05 2004

new font dialog

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by mikelima 13 comments

Sorry, to me this just seems pointless. How often do you change your fonts? I change them once in a bluemoon, and usually I change one or two of them. I have no interest in theming.

But that is just me, the main reason I'd disagree with this addition is it is crowding the dialog and the theming nature of the adddition is not well laid out, it doesn't suggest to me that the theming controls control any aspect of the dialog.

The theming controls should surround the rest of the controls to inidicate they affect them.

Well done for trying but it needs some work. - Jun 03 2003
I'm European. You can take your Eurotrash comments somewhere else.

Moron.

Frankly if anyone likes these hideous things I'm disgusted. what kind of person are you? I can think of very few reasons to enjoy the use of these cards. Most of the reasons I can think of are because you are some kind of patriotic fool who thinks war is in some way glorious.

War is unfortunately sometimes necessary. Glorifying it is sick. Being typically American and slating Europe also p*sses me off. - Apr 15 2003
WaitCursorPatch

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by stefano 7 comments

Would be a different cursor when the link opens in a new window.

I know I often get taken by surprise when the link opens in a new window, it would be neat to have a little icon next to the hand to indicate that that link will open in a new window so I can divert it to a new tab instead if I choose.

(I know it says in the status bar, but that isn't as convenient as a cursor notification) - Mar 21 2003

I'd love this to be developed. I was guilty of assuming it was a release and being befuddled when a png image popped up! (Won't be the last..)

Also links to the wallpaper and xmms skin would be super. Thanks in advance. - Dec 16 2002
