ark process ideas

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by teddylinuxmania 5 comments

afaik, there where technical reasons why we have no progress bar. something about the underlying tools (bzip etc) not being able to show their progress...

but feel free to offer help :D - Feb 22 2005
Window thumbnails idea

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by RockeGomp 8 comments

do you mean something like the pager (not the kicker pager, but the seperate one), or are you talking about something like the kasbar (but with the window previews instead of the icons)? - Feb 22 2005

great job! maybe you can get grub support in KDE? (eg the control center can only change lilo). - Feb 21 2005

KDE 3.5 Themes by peroxid 56 comments

I use kaffeine to play my video's, but with this style enabled, fullscreen video leaves a white line on top of the screen. I've not seen any other style do this... I hope you can fix it? - Feb 18 2005

another problem with the style: make the kicker translucent and watch the buttons...

let konqueror show close buttons on the tabs, and watch (evil SQUARE wite space surrounding button...).

I hope you can fix these... - Feb 14 2005

KDE 3.5 Themes by peroxid 56 comments

you're theme is crazy-fast and looks very good, but I don't like (actually hate) the centered tabs. its really not usable to always have the tabs moving. could you please disable this, or make it possible to disable it?

thanx in advance...

btw smooth aa and gradients, well, I guess they don't fit this theme... but it might be nice as an option, if its not too hard to do... - Feb 13 2005
kio_rar

System Software by rgfernandes 37 comments

thanx for 0.5! am I right if I think the rar support in KDE 3.4 will be equally as good as the zip and gz support?

I hope so... if it is, its your work, so thank you. if it isn't, well, keep up the good work, I guess you will be able to make it :D - Feb 13 2005

another question: is knewstuff going to be integrated in amarok, so you can download and install new scripts?

Amarok 1.x Scripts by eean 20 comments

cool script, but ehm... the dependencies are quite insane. I happen to have amarok 1.2beta4, but korundum 3.4beta2 isn't even on the official korundum website... maybe you can try to use less bleeding edge software? I can handle some beta's but don't overdo :D - Feb 06 2005

K3b

Utilities by trueg 227 comments

well, I guess you have done something wrong while compiling, I never had many serious issues with k3b, even while I was running mandrake cooker (and believe me, thats unstable...).

and nowadays it always works perfect. as you can see, 0.11.20 is very stable - more crashes would get fixed if it wasn't.

maybe you used strange compilerswitches, or tried to optimize it too much? (eg -O3?) - Feb 04 2005
amaroK Desktop Script

Amarok 1.x Scripts by Kner 88 comments

hmmm, it (or something else) crashed kdesktop. but after restarting it, I don't have any problems. strange, for sure. whatever, it works now :D

amaroK Desktop Script

Amarok 1.x Scripts by Kner 88 comments

the script has killed my background here. I have a slideshow, a different one on each desktop. could that be the reason?

well, amarok is beta(4) and some other things don't work, too, so I guess I have to wait until this all becomes a bit more stable... but its very cool!!! - Feb 03 2005

Lsongs

Audio Apps by tommycw1 15 comments

I think amarok offers a better interface, if it has to be powerfull. and Juk offers an easier interface, so imho Lsongs doesn't really fill a niche on linux...

and with digikam we have a better Lphoto, imho, too. - Jan 24 2005

I like your application, but its not - well, its not difficult, sure. but its just not - Damn, hard to say. I simply don't use it... that's it, I guess. it takes some time to get used to, maybe. but I stumbled upon this:

http://docs.blacktree.com/doku.php?id=quicksilver:what_is_quicksilver

looks like these guys have something like your app workin' a bit. maybe you can have a look, get some ideas? Because this IS a great idea, so please don't give up...

maybe apple's scripting-automator-whatever the thing is called can be inspiring?

and the gnomes seem to be working on something like this, too...

MateEdit

Text Editors by aramm 16 comments

well,
I dont know how you exactly implemented this, but if its a seperate 'protocol' I think you can add it to kopete (just like there are aim, irc, msn etc). but it'd be even better if it could work upon existing protocols, like msn or icq. so the users can simply open this drawer and start working together. maybe add painting too, maybe with kolourpaint, so they can work together on something like that. and maybe rich-text edit etc?

I imagine people can work on a application (EVERY application) together while talking in their mic's :D

Would be cool for kde 4.0... - Jan 21 2005
MateEdit

Text Editors by aramm 16 comments

this is great, absolutely, but it lacks quite some integration... couldn't you make a plugin or addon or patch for kopete? or integrate it in kontact? if you are planning to do so, well, don't mind me and don't listen, I didn't say anything :D - Jan 19 2005
kio-locate

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by arminstraub 178 comments

kio-locate

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by arminstraub 178 comments

this latest release is very cool, collapsing of the hits - nice work.

pitty it won't be able to do real-time search, isn't it?

I am waiting for some google-bar like search for files, which can narrow the showed files in the current map and its submaps... KIO-locate is nice, and should stay, but this is even better. mostly, you almost know where the file is: ~/documents, or ~/pictures... but where exactly? :D - Jan 17 2005

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by tobydox 5 comments

well, its in KDE's CVS, if you install kde 3.4-cvs I guess you can try it. its desinged to allow more freedom with theme creation, like for example the gnome desktop manager (afaik, kdm will be (almost) compattible with gdm themes).

you can maybe find some info on the dot, and/or in the cvs digests. - Jan 03 2005
