yep. and it also really looks like an application, its very clear what it does, and I think it scales quite well.

all in all, I think this is an excelent submission, and I hope the author can find the sources (and maybe do some work on it) soon. - Sep 26 2004

I haven't tried it yet, so its just my thought: can this replace kedit? Imho kwrite and kate are perfect, but a bit slow to start on my system. so I whould love a very slim texteditor... you might considder build thise one to fill that nice (advanced texteditors we have). - Sep 25 2004

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by daphantom 5 comments

but a good idea anyway. expecially if you use kxdocker/kooldock/etc. with such an osx-like bar, its very usefull I think to be able to find your app very fast. but also with the current kicker, if an mouse-over the taskbar whould make all apps except the moused-over app transparant, thats very nice. Yes, imho a very good idea. keep 'em coming ;-)

you might fill a wish for kwin and/or kicker... - Sep 23 2004

Various Artwork by meNGele 2 comments

its a really nice one. and imho its nice not to see the adobe logo, altough it makes it more clear what the app is about. hmmm.

I think this one whould fit an page formatting app more, or some CREATE pdf-tool? if you whould make it more cleare its about pdf... but then, you might end up adding the adobe pdf logo ;-)

btw i might be talking shit, im stoned... - Sep 19 2004

is very nice. but I think its more fit for a file icon, not for the application. I'd say, look at the others: it doenst fit in. its a button. it's like kword a bit, but just not really...

no, I dont think this is the best, but close. and perfect for file association. - Sep 19 2004

Iraq Body Count Ticker

Karamba & Superkaramba by hillmanj 20 comments

well, if you whould count in dead americans the number whoulnt change much.

check:
amount killed iraqi civillians by americans and/or because of american attack on iraq:
20.000+
amount killed americans by iraqi's:
not much (war was short). at most I guess some 200...
amount killed by terrorist (eg 9/11): should we count that? its about the iraqi war, not about terrorists (eg Tsjetsjenie shouldnt be counted too...)
anyway if you insist, I guess some 3000?
Killed by saddam:
at least some 300.000 I guess, but a million might even be realistic.

so.

1.000.000 by Saddam. american' presense (not the american soldiers themselves, alot ppl in iraq are killed by terrorist attacks) costs a bit more than 20.000 lives. how is that compared? the attack of saddam did cost human lives. alot. but saddam was much worse. (think about toxic gass attacks on kurdian ppl - whole villages wiped out by Saddam's army).

if they didnt attack germany in World War II because they whould kill alot civilians that way, and let Hitler do whatever he wanted?

how whould the world be? harsh choices have to be made. I whould never say Bush did the right thing for the right reason, but I mostly question his motives.

Shoulnt we have attacked stalin, who has eliminated more than 20 MILLION russians in his rulership? - Sep 19 2004

Karamba & Superkaramba by hillmanj 20 comments

good work!!! maybe, in some time, you can add support for Xorg's new features? it might at least speed up rendering and allow for realtime updates.

tnx for the job - Sep 15 2004
kamix

Audio Apps by steunix 85 comments

but it whould still be nice if the author of kamix would be able to add these things to kmix (or if kmix is replaced by kamix) so there isnt that much duplication of efforts. he, or the author of kmix, could start working on some other app ;-) - Sep 14 2004

me too, I work almost only with fully maximized apps. well, I have set kontact to always open on desktop 3 (mail), no border, always maximized, not showing on taskbar & pager.

I think anyway that this idea is nice, although maybe some more modifications and thought can be put in it. personally I dont like the mac-OS x like menubar in the kicker, and its not necesairy cuz all aps are maximized - so its in its place anyway. but thats just me, Im not used to it... - Sep 06 2004
Kariboo

Audio Apps by fulgrim 10 comments

thats not what I meant... I tried to state my point as carefull as possible, but thats difficult. I think choice is good, but to a certain extend. maybe the author of this app might think about adding the great things in kariboo to eg juk or amarok, or copy code from them in kariboo - anyway, he's duplicating alot of work which has already been done a few times. Of course he has every right to do so, but I'd rather see him working on something new instead of doing the same thing again... - Sep 05 2004

its a nice app, but well... have you ever had a look at the various audio players for kde?

noatun
kmplayer
kplayer
amarok
juk
kmp3
kscd
kmediaplayer

just to name a few...

its not that I dont want you to code (actually thats a good thing) and its not that I think there should be only 1 app for a certain purpose, but there are more than 7 audioplayers now. I whould say, can't you write plugins for amarok? or enhance juk?

or even better, make ktouch working a bit better... or enhance some of the games. - Aug 31 2004

its a nice app, but I rather see some of its features build in in konqi than in a seperate app. konqi can easilly embed this. why another seperate app? atm konqi is an exelent ftp browser already, well, why not improve it a little instead of writing a new application? - Aug 18 2004
