that was quick. i did run it, but it told me nothing - just took some heavy cpu for some time. it should tell what did happen, now i'm not really sure if it did work.

anyway, if it did work - thanx. but how can i use the offline script to move all pics from the cache to the directories? and does it set the folder picture? - Apr 20 2006

there is one thing i have against this menu: it is far to small. half my menu's don't fit on the left half, while i always have to scroll to see the apps on the right hand. i have no overview this way, and it's very hard to locate apps, so i reverted back to the default KDE menu which CAN handle more apps. can you guys fix this? let users resize your app? - Apr 16 2006
Dragon Player

Video Players by eean 278 comments

hi, great work! codine is lovely fast ;-)

there is one thing i find annoying: most media players have their controls on bottom of the movie, codeine on top. now i can move it down, of course - but in full-screen, i have to tip the TOP of the screen, to see the slider move in ON BOTTOM so i can't use it... looks like a BUG to me.

you might also consider putting it on bottom by default. not that it is inherently more usable, but it is more like other players.

ow, and when you go full-screen and show the progress bar, a smooth animation would be cool, and i'd use it as overlay, don't move the video up but keep it where it is. now the screen sometimes even flashes...

hope it helps :D - Apr 13 2006
KDE 5 Service Menu PDF

Dolphin Service Menus by egregorion 101 comments

yes, i could use kghostview, but problem is - the KDE pdf printer sucks. print with it, and look at the fonts... they are badly rendered, that's why i use OO.o to create pdf's. - Apr 08 2006

hey, this is a cool tool. made it in my service menu folder :D

but i have one question: what about encrypted pdf's? some are not printable, but kpdf can ignore that. can PDFtk Tools do that too? (its about a reader from my gf's university, they insist on selling it or making their students read it online, while they've been out of stock for some time and she needs it) - Apr 08 2006

i know it sucks, but c++ themes (like this one and all "native KDE themes") have to be compiled like an application. so you have to extract it, go to its directory, type "./configure [enter]; make [enter]; make install [enter].

you'll have to have installed all KDE development packages and of course the whole make toolchain. lots of work for a newbie, i know - but there are lots of how-to's and stuff like that on the web.

the other option is looking for a package for your distribution (eg a .deb for debian and (k)ubuntu, a rpm for most other distro's - but get a specific one for YOUR distro, others most likely won't work tough you can try 'em).

install the package with the tools from your distro, eg on commandline or graphical - you will have to read some stuff about installing software under linux, it works way different compared to windows (tough not really more difficult - once you get used to it, it actually is generally speaking easier and faster).

good luck - Mar 02 2006

wow, that's some time ago... after 2 months someone replies, i don't see that very often ;-)

anyway, i haven't used the style anymore, so it doesn't bother me that much ;-)

maybe it was/is due to a bug in the code of the theme, that's why i reported it. well, if the author is willing to invest time in it, we'll see. if not, then not...

make it brighter wood, finer detailed, and fix all the misalignments. last but not least: make it a KDE style, not gnome, as i'd love to use it - and if its a KDE theme, all gnome apps can use it automatically (gtk-qt theme engine does that) while the other way around is not possible. - Jan 28 2006
