When you hit the "edit" link, and click "next" to keep the type of content you have selected for the post, you can scroll past the entries for content files to the bottom of the page for uploading a screenshot. At the very bottom of the page, just above the Reset, Back, and Save buttons, is the "Announce update on homepage" checkbox. - Apr 16 2009

You might want to first try giving it a thumbnail by editing this item, and making sure the announce update checkbox is selected - Apr 13 2009

Slickness for GnoMenu

GnoMenu Skins by TwoPointOh 16 comments

You need to be root to do this, or really to do anything else that changes files outside your home folder. That's the equivalent to Administrator on Linux/UNIX systems. Open a terminal, and run "sudo nautilus --no-desktop" to open a file browser as root. You can then put the files in the proper places. - Feb 23 2009

The Slickness theme does not show icons on buttons, which is what GnoMenu displays the menu items as. To change that, open the Slickness gtkrc file and change gtk-button-images from 0 to 1. - Feb 02 2009

Please fix the link. I like this wallpaper very much. Yes, it's true that Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora et al are awesome, but it's nice to see a clean, classic, distroless wallpaper like this. - Feb 02 2009
Slickness for GnoMenu

GnoMenu Skins by TwoPointOh 16 comments

First you'll need to install GnoMenu from http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GnoMenu+-+consolidated+menu+for+gnome?content=93057
Then, unpack this archive somewhere. Put the Black-White 2 folder in /usr/share/gnomenu/Themes/Button, the Black-White 2 Neon folder in /usr/share/gnomenu/Themes/Icon, and the SlicknesS folder in /usr/share/gnomenu/Themes/Menu - Feb 01 2009

So you don't like Microsoft's business practices, or the quality of their software. Neither do I, but I do like what Vista LOOKS like, while disliking the rest. If you don't like the look, that's fine. This is an artwork website, not a business or politics website. - Dec 15 2008

GnoMenu - consolidated menu for gnome

Various Gnome Stuff by Whise 146 comments

Could you add the option to not bind the menu to the Windows/Meta button? This seems to be a regression from the old Vistamenu, which does have that option. I like using Gnome-do with the Meta-space key combo. - Dec 13 2008

I like the concept of the shiny reflection. But the placement of the logo and text at the bottom of the screen screams ERROR until I realize that's what it's supposed to look like. Could you do another version, still reflecting, but with the logo and text at the center of the screen? - Nov 03 2008
