Hello. I have kubuntu 8.04 and I have had the following error:

I solved it editing the file "Makefile" in the "Translations" folder and replacing "lrelease-language compress $ $ \" with "language lrelease $ $ \", In the same way it had been indicated to the user Thomashausa in:

Oh! You have a forum! I am a new member now.

1)Ok.
2) If I am not wrong, when you apply zoom, horizontal and vertical size are extended at the same time. The image does not suffer distortion but you lose part of the image in the right and left borders. My request was about an option to expand only a little the vertical size, keeping the horizontal size. The picture is distorted a bit, but it may be useful when the image is very narrow.
3) Ok. But if you find the way to do it, it would be very good.
4) I am very stupid. Never had tried that.
5) Sorry, I do not have much knowledge about it. I just installed lirc following some tutorials.
If you like, I can give you instructions on how to manufacture an economic but powerful infrared receiver for the serial port. You can use it with any remote control you have.Just you need a little electronics knowledge.

PD: Did I can write in Spanish on your forum? Are You from Spain, right? The English is very hard for me,
I takes around an hour to write each message. :)

As I have always said, SMplayer is the best GUI for Mplayer!

Just a couple of requests:

1)Add a simple Audio graphic equalizer.
2)In Pan & Scan, add ability to change vertical or horizontal sizes, independently of each other.
Useful when the image is in widescreen format and you have a 4:3 screen. You can expand a little bit the image vertically, keeping the horizontal size.
3)Ability to change subtitle position directly picking on it with mouse pointer, and then moving it up or down.
4)Ability to move the OSD information out of the visible image and putting it on the black borders for example.
5)Lirc support

That's it :)

Subtitle Composer

Thank you very much for your application. I have been looking for something similar to the Windows app "Subtitle Workshop" for Linux, and finally I have found it. It has less options than the Subtitle Workshop, but I hope that you can be adding them.

For kubuntu installation:
http://divilinux.wordpress.com/2007/11/15/subtitle-composer

In the last step you can to use "$ sudo make install" or "$ checkinstall" to generate deb package.

Run subtitlecomposer from console.
Thanks again. - Nov 15 2007

Hello.
Solved! The problem was that I had installed an old version of winrar, and "Extrat files..." did not works with a single file.
Two new things:
1) In "Compress...", winrar dialog is opened correctly but the default name of the file is always "_.rar". For example: with the file called "test.txt" the default name that appears in winrar dialog is "_.rar" and not "test.rar". I know, a little and non important thing :)
2)Winerar does not works in FAT32 partitions. With "extract" options, winrar "file not found" message appear. With "compress" options dialogs are opened but nothing happens later. Opening winrar.exe with Wine, it works fine in FAT partitions.

I attach the new version file for an Spanish installation of kubuntu and Winrar under "c:\archivos de programa\winrar\winrar.exe"

I have made a small modification in Spanish traslation:
Abre con Winrar >> Abrir con Winrar
Repara el Archivo >> Reparar el Archivo

Thanks and very good work :) - Oct 15 2007

Yes, replacing "`winepath -w ./.winerartmp/`*.*" for "`winepath -w ./.winerartmp/`*" only works with .rar extensions.
But with "`winepath -w ./.winerartmp/`*.*" don't work for me.
Anyway, I resolve the problem including [*.*] or [*] into [``]. You can see the attached file:

http://rapidshare.com/files/62155927/winerarES.desktop.html

Now works fine with any compressed file. - Oct 12 2007

Hello koko2k.
In the code corresponding to "Extract Files...", I have replaced "`winepath -w ./.winerartmp/`*.*" for "`winepath -w ./.winerartmp/`*" and now work for me.
I attach the modified file for an Spanish installation of winrar and kubuntu in "~/.wine/drive_c/Archivos de programa/WinRAR"

* Fixed a silly Bug which prevented to use the "Compress..." item, sorry for that.

Are you Italian? :)

When I run "UbuDSL - configuration" from K menu shortcut, it is started without privileges and firmware is not installed later.
Runing "sudo /opt/ubudsl/bin/run.sh" work fine.

Hello again.
I don't know why Smplayer dont take the same Mplayer codec configuration. Mplayer works fine with following audio codecs:
* FFmpeg's libavcodec audio decoders
* Win32/ACM decoders
* libmad mpeg audio decoder
Thats codecs do not appear with the same name in Smplayer. When I open "Options->Advanced media settings" in Smplayer, the default audio codec is always "mp3 - mpelib MPEG layer-2, layer-3" and with it, only noises are listened . Changing that codec for "mp3acm - MPEG layer 3 [l3codeca.acm]", audio works fine (mp3acm is the correct codec). But when I close Smplayer and open a new file, I have to select the mp3acm audo codec again. Any way, Smplayer is my favorite player in linux. Thanks rvm. - Apr 15 2007

Hello. Good work with this program.
I have an audio problem, I only hear noises. I don't have that problem in Mplayer. The selected audio codec in Mplayer is "FFmpeg/libavcodec audio decoders". The default audio codec in SMplayer is "mp3 - mpelib MPEG layer-2, layer-3". I have tested with all the available codecs but I can't hear the audio. What can be the problem?
Thanks.
