Metacity Themes by BearOso 17 comments

WOW!

This is the first metacity that has left me completly pleased. It is amazing, it really has the tango look and feel. I believe this should be the official tango theme for metacity (and I am happy that it does not use any pixmaps).

I hope to see more work from you :) - May 24 2007

WOW.I have never used a mac, but I always like to try cairo gtk engines. Your work is awesome. I hope to see a stable version soon.

There is a consisntent crash when using the gnome-panel menu (click on the applications menu). Also, the rendering of the tabs is quite impressive, very clean, however with some apps (try opening tabs in gnome-terminal) the rendering is incorrect.

Keep working. - Jan 02 2007

Good work. - Oct 04 2006

Could you provide a URL as to where exactly in NASA did you get the star map. Also, did you get the actual star coordinates, or just a spherical/cylindrical texture map?

You should take a look at celestia, there are some pretty amazing extra texture packs which really bring a lot of detail, it even has some fancy atmosphere rendering stuff. - Aug 16 2006

What icon theme are you using? nice border by the way. - Aug 13 2006
Yes it is rhythmbox, and the plugin is AlbumArt. Although if you are using dapper (as I am) you wont be able to use it.

Download rhythmbox from CVS and compile it your self, dont forget to include --enable-python on the ./configure line.

I hope it helps. - Jun 30 2006
I'm glad you like it. - Jun 30 2006
OSX Folder Icons

Icon Sub-Sets by acornejo 2 comments

I'm glad you like them. They should look familiar. They were designed entirely in inkscape, inspired by the alternate folders 2 icons, but removing the perspective.

The final touch was to use a gradient that achieved an effect as similar as possible to the originals. If you want/need the SVG source of the icons I would be glad to forward it to you, I dont know who is officialy in charge of the development of this icon theme. - Jun 29 2006

looks simple and elegant, altough I think it will be quite a challenge to do a complete icon set with the same feel.

I hope you succeed, good work so far. - Apr 12 2006

Yes, I agree with them, the navigation icons really dont sit that well with the rest of the theme. IMHO it is the outside shape, I think we all associate that outline with a stop sign.

Maybe you could just change the outline shape to a circle, or maybe remove it all together. Just a thought.

PS: A revamped trash icon is a must, the default trash icons has very dull colors. - Apr 05 2006

This is a great looking theme. It is honestly the best minimalistic theme I have ever seen.

It is not only clean, but also extremely usable. GREAT job, I hope to see more themes like this. - Dec 16 2005

The icons are really great, and being so complete makes it all the better. However, since it was made with inkscape, it would be much cooler to have the SVG version.

I know some artists are reluctant to release the SVG version, but maybe you could release it under the artistic license or something.

Well, anywayz, keep up the good work. - Aug 06 2005

And it is great because it is a complete icon theme, it is SVG and was released as SVG (instead of converting everything to png or jpg, which seems to be the popular thing to do).

Keep up the good work. - Aug 05 2005

Pretty good looking icons. If you are open to some comments, I like better the yellow folders than the blue ones (shown in your desktop). And a preview would definetly be a nice add-on. - May 11 2005
