easy ;)

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3 --libdir=/opt/kde3/lib64/ --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3 --with-qt-includes=/usr/lib/qt3/include --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib/qt3/lib64 --enable-libsuffix=64 --with-pic --enable-shared=no --enable-static=yes

With this configure-line I got it compiling, but not running...argh.

configure fails on qt, even if you give the qt-dir, qt-includes and qt-libs...I am using suse 10 with the latest qt3. - Oct 07 2005

I have tested quanta the whole night and I must say that it is useful, but what makes it totally annoying is that the editor is destroying some written html-tags :/...
I have written a webpage with many tables and as I have edited it with quanta 3.3.2 the website was destroyed and as I went through the sourcecode I have mentioned that quanta automatically changed some tags. Nice idea, but for what? This function is not correct, so I have disabled all auto*-functions and I hope quanta will leave my code untouched :/...

Ps.: I have changed from windows to linux, because windows has done things without my "ok" and now I meet quanta, a really bad feeling, reminds me of windows tools.

So please remove these strange auto*-functions...they are useless, nothing else. - Jan 29 2005

Aethera promises a lot, but as long as it's only available via rpm-package, I will not use it. I have a distribution, which does not manage installed software with rpm, so I need to convert this rpm-package to a tar.gz, but I wonder why the author does not just release the sourcecode as a *.tar.gz !?

Ok, I must admit that I have already tried to convert this *.rpm to a *.tar.gz, but compiling did not work. I have read the instructions, but they told me steps to do, which I could not do, because of missing files or perhaps they have just different filenames. I don't really know but I don't have to know. This is the job of the author, not of me.

Sorry, but for the moment, Aethera seems to be strange for me :/. - Jan 25 2005

thanks :)
The resolution 1600x? is quite big and my monitor can't handle this resolution and even if he would be able to, the best refresh rate for this resolution would be 60 Hz or similar :)...and my eyes are not able to look on a monitor with such a refresh rate :)...
I think I need to buy a new monitor...*gg*

The color green was chosen by me , because the SuSE logo is also green and I like of course the color blue, but it was time to change to green, because everything on my desktop is blue or similar and I need changes :)...

But if I find a high resolution logo of gentoo I will create a wallpaper for gentoo, too, and in blue *gg*...

Thanks for your comment. As I wrote, no comments are bad, so thank you :). - Dec 01 2004

As I visited the projectpage at I noticed that there is also a version 1 and even a version 2...but there cannot be the 1.0, because even this version is buggy.
The idea of kbear is great, the builtin scintilla component is usable and the sitemanager is great, but kbear crashes too often...and of course it lengthens the systray...and I often don't know if a file was successfully uploaded or keeps the information...but I want to know...

I think Kbear shoud be called "Kbear 0.1 alpha" and it would be ok for me, but 1.0 or even 2.0 ? Did sou see, there is also a beta :)...
Sad, but I thought kbear would be the greatest gui-ftp-lient for KDE, but that was not the case after some tests.

@author: downgrade the version numbers and call it beta or alpha or something else. In fact it cannot be stable, because most sourcecodes of kbear don't compile on the latest slackware. I needed to pick a package from - Nov 26 2004

I think the reflection-effect is wrong...I don't think that this looks like the real world :)...and the wall is so clean at the bottom. I've never seen such a clean wall :)...perhaps some flowers to it's buttom or a border, or "I have no idea" :).

But nevertheless, I like the image, it's good. - Nov 17 2004
