I am using openSUSE 10.2 with KDE 3.5.7 and I can't compile this plugin. I compiled kopete from svn.
Trying to configure the desklist plugin with

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3/ --with-qt-includes=/usr/lib64/qt3/include/ --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib64/qt3/lib64/

is the only way to make the configure script find the libqt-mt library. However, it does never find KDE libraries (and they are installed in /opt/kde3).

Has anyone managed to compile this plugin on openSUSE10.2 with latest KDE 3.5? Any help is appreciated. - Aug 23 2007

libgsm should be available on your installation media (if you are running openSUSE). libmeanwhile and libortp are available from the web, just ask friendly google - Jun 17 2007

And the reason for building it myself is that Kopete included in openSUSE does not have support for jabber voice chats. - Feb 18 2007

As mentioned above, I chose to build Kopete 0.12.2, because encryption does not work in more recent versions.
I am aware, that the latest release is 0.12.4 and that it is included in KDE 3.5.6. - Feb 18 2007

I also had problems with kmail and certain IMAP-servers: "error starting TLS". I installed the openssl package from SUSE10.1, and everything is working fine again.
Nevertheless, I would prefer more thoroughly tested realeases. - Dec 09 2006

Strange behaviour. I did run kscannerbuttons directly from its directory, without installing it and configured where to find the required programs and scripts. This resulted in the mentioned error messages.
Now I copied the programs and scripts to ~/bin/, no more error messages. - Sep 08 2006

I just downloaded 0.9.2, but the problems are still there:

Unknown widget function: 'clearList'.
->at startup

Unknown widget function: 'enableWidget'.
->when selecting scanner

My system is SUSE10.1, KDE3.5.4 and QT3.3.6 - Sep 07 2006
