I've kopete 1.12.1 and the emoticons shows up strangely... Sometimes at the beginning of the line, sometimes at the upper left corner of the window...

I've found one problem to make it : edit widgets, at least with Qt 3.X style implementation, can't have a shape different of rectangular. Even by forcing the clip region with an internal Qt function, there are still some problems, in konqueror for example. - Dec 26 2003

It's unfortunatly not possible due to a limitation in Qt style engine without a ugly hack as the shadow one... I've already tried things like that.
The problem is that the outer shape of a menu is a rectangle and cannot be changed. The only possible way is to take parts of the screen and redraw them on the menu.
You'll have to wait for trolltech to implement a menu mask... - Mar 19 2003

Well, in fact, as the buttons must follow the color theme and as this client has been designed to work with relatively small caption fonts, I've used the very simple ones from the Web client.
