Cairo-Dock Themes by MastroPino 13 comments

I've been using cairo-dock for only few days now, but I like it more than other similar solutions - among existing themes I must say yours is the best! However, I've encountered an issue - don't know whether it's your theme's fault or mine or cairo-dock's even (version 2.0 beta1) - on auto-hide there's an arrow protruding from the bottom of the screen which, when hovered, summons the dock back to screen. Do you, or anyone here, know how to get rid of it? Thanx in advance - Jan 31 2009

Radio Screenlet

Conky by Whise 20 comments

Great screenlet, however I would like to suggest adding a record button - it would be great to record some of that great BBC radio programme and I believe the requested feature is trivial to implement with mplayer (mplayer -dumpstream "<url>" -dumpfile <file>)... Thanx for making this ;) - Dec 15 2007

Dyndyn Gtk+2 Engine

GTK2 Themes by sijp 46 comments

Hey, perhaps his name was tarnished (and IMHO it was not), but what I've been trying to tell (or better, explain to) you is that's the risk you take when releasing your software under GPL. Furthermore, you are using the same BS argument Jorg "cdrecord" Schilling used when he tried to relicence cdrecord claiming SuSe, Debian, Mandrake... tarnished his holy name by adding dvd recording capabilities to his programme. He went that far to claim they breached a GPL Preamble (sic!), whilst at the same time he continued offering his own dvd recording software under closed source licence! I implore you, get over this since your own excellence cannot be destroyed by few copycat works... - Oct 25 2006
Dyndyn Gtk+2 Engine

Temper, temper, now, now... There's no need to shout, really. Actually, I have understood and interpreted your words perfectly, however you persist in failing to comprehend - you have already agreed, by using GPL, to reuse of your code - even in the case of it being utilised as mere repo for someone else's work... Your mention of M$ is pure doublespeak argument, since they would not be legally allowed to link your GPLed code with their proprietary libs (there's some sort of trap here, since libgtk+ is LGPL actually). You have every right to be mad in case any potential abuse should take place, but sadly (or luckily) that is not what happened... - Oct 24 2006
Dyndyn Gtk+2 Engine

GTK2 Themes by sijp 46 comments

I must admit I have great respect for your work, however having read your latest comment I feel very surprised... You've obviously made grave mistake whilst reading GPL and understood it was an M$ EULA - the only right you haven't waived by using GPL as the licence is the copyright to the engine name - all the code is actually available, and if I decided to take it, make one line modification and call it, say, Fresco I would be a coding and perhaps moral midget but would have every legal right to do so and be so ;) Therefore, your comment is untrue and absurd, since the only thing I would have to say is that I made a fork, which sijp had already done... - Oct 24 2006

Download Murrine-themes archive (you'll find it here on gnome-look) and extract it to the hidden dir called .themes - it's in your home dir in case you're wondering... Then, go System - Prefs - Theme and choose one of the subthemes under Theme Details - Controls.. and that's it. - Jul 31 2006

Very good mc theme; however, I found a funny bug-like thingie (or perhaps an actual bug) - non-maximised windows have "damaged" close button, ie. button with its left upper corner rounded so it gives an impression of faultiness especially when hovered... Otherwise, great! - Jun 05 2006

Filebrowser appearence

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by zammi 29 comments

The first mockup seems the best, however I would get rid of all those unnecessary and confusing tabs, along with the context menu on the right. On-click chooser is great improvement, imho, presenting some nice options, I hope double-click would still open the image within Konqui...The other two are more-less disastrous attempts at fake usability, being actually a nightmare of cluttered options. Btw, what iconsets are you using in the screenshots? I hope my comments will not be understood as an insult, just an opinion... Keep up. - Aug 30 2005

Well, you obviously hadn't read the info: this theme is built for 0.12.x series, which has better themeing support, but different names for included pics. So, this is NOT for 0.11.x, but 0.12.x series, with which, of course, it operates correctly... Search kde-look in order to find original meNGele's work for 0.11.x ... - Aug 23 2005

Thanks for your kind words, but as I said I had just reworked the existing theme by meNGele, so all kudos actually go on his part ;). And to answer your questions - in the first one, you meant how to install the theme, right? Fire up k3b, go to settings - themes, and press install new theme. Choose the archive, it should appear in the list, select it, and press apply ;). The windec I'm using - well, I don't use kwin as my window manager under KDE, but amazing enlightenment with the 23ozglass theme... hope I helped. - Aug 14 2005
