As mentioned in the last thread, your applet seems to enforce a particular landscape aspect ratio.

This doesn't suit me, as I want it to have portrait orientation and to be much narrower than it is now.

For this to work, you'll need to change the code to wrap any overlapping text around to the next line.

This has already been done in the default 'News' applet, so you can probably just copy the code from there.

Are you happy to implement those two features: unrestricted widget size/aspect and text wrap-around? - Oct 12 2011

Hamachi v2 is currently downloadable from the "Labs & Betas" section of the LogMeIn website. - Jul 20 2010
Thanks for the compliment.

I thought about doing what you've suggested before the last release, but decided that Quamachi users would likely have 'kdenetwork' installed already.

I'll reconsider adding this as a dependency prior to the next release. - Feb 28 2008
Sorry about the delay in responding.

Please run Quamachi from the command-line and issue the 'v' (verbose) option:
python Quamachi.pyw v

Then email the output to me via the 'Help' menu. - Jan 13 2008
Thanks for the compliment and I'm glad you like Quamachi.

Let me know if you've got any suggestions and I'll add them to the list. - Aug 27 2007
For installation and runtime assistance, see the "Doc/INSTALL.txt" file that's included with Quamachi.

Once you're sure that all of the prerequisites are installed, running "Quamachi.pyw" should work. Keep in mind that it begins with a capital Q, and Linux is case sensitive!

If you run into any problems, feel free to send me an email. You can retrieve my email address from the "Doc/AUTHORS.txt" file. - May 20 2007
Sorry about the duplication, but it's not really my fault.

Firefox and/or Tab Mix Plus should disable form submissions when someone chooses the "Undo Close Tab" option.

I realise the irony in submitting a third message to undo the second one :-). - May 16 2007
Thanks for the compliment.

I figured people would mostly just want to see the online peers, so I put the "Hide Offline Peers" toggle in the 'Option' menu rather than in the 'Settings' dialog.

I also decided to put it there for easy access. - May 16 2007

Thanks for giving it another try. I'm glad it's now working correctly.

I also had problems with gHamachi, which is why I decided to write Quamachi. - Mar 29 2007
You also need to install the Python-Qt4 bindings (PyQt4).

Perhaps on Kubuntu the package name is "pyqt4" or "python-qt4".

If not, you can get the source here: - Mar 23 2007
I haven't used a Debian-based Linux before, but I want to try Kubuntu at some stage because I've heard it's good.

Quamachi should run decently after you've installed, configured and tested Hamachi. You can get Hamachi here:

The installation instructions for Quamachi are in the "Doc/INSTALL.txt" file. If there are any troubles, send me an email. - Mar 23 2007

As noted in my earlier comment, I was a big fan of yaWP. However, the GUI changes made in v0.2 have changed my mind. What on Earth were you guys thinking? You already had the winning formula, so major changes weren't necessary.

When I re-login to KDE, two major bugs become evident:
* The floating display enlarges the information to fill up the whole desktop;
* The docked display shrinks the information to a tiny size that I can't read.

This means I have to remove and re-add each yaWP instance every time I login, whether they're floating or docked. Please fix these bugs relatively soon.

I'd like to add that I'm not a fan of the new 'minimal' information display that the floating instance offers. I dislike being forced to hover my mouse over it in order to see the details. Please at least include a check-box in the 'Settings' dialog that allows the user to ditch the tooltip method and show all information directly on the floating instance, just like in pre-v0.2 releases.

Send me an email if you'd like me to provide further information or to run some tests. - Mar 06 2009
Liquid Weather ++ for SuperKaramba is great, but yaWP is a worthy substitute now that Plasma is mainstream.

I disagree that the other weather plasmoids are as good and I was wondering who I'd need to root in order to get a decent one coded. Fortunately, that won't be necessary as I found yaWP earlier and it works nicely with KDE v4.2. - Jan 31 2009

YAPG is the best Pacman GUI I've tried.

I hope you keep developing it further, perhaps making it more like the Smart Package Manager GUI. - Sep 05 2007

You're on the right track and I hope you keep improving QGRUBEditor.

I'm also glad you did it in Qt. Write support will be great and perhaps also doll up the GUI when time permits. - Jun 14 2007

I think SMPlayer is fabulous!

I hope KDE decides to include it in 'kdemultimedia' fairly soon.

Can you create an auto-zoom option? For example, I want to set the default to 200%. - Apr 07 2007

Why don't you like Amarok?

I've been a programmer for years and I think they've done a good job. - Sep 29 2006
Thanks for your comments.

I guess I use Amarok differently. I don't try to rearrange tracks so it hardly ever crashes on me.

If you need to kill a process without using the keyboard, I highly recommend 'KPS'. It's available here on KDE-Apps.

You could always try Rhythmbox, but I prefer Amarok. Kaffeine is also looking pretty good these days.

IMO, Amarok is one of the best things since sliced bread. - Sep 14 2006
In my opinion, Amarok is the best application on

Its score of 80+% isn't right. I think it should be over 95%.

Keep up the great development work! - Sep 12 2006

I also get the Arkollon error on FC5:

make[3]: Entering directory `/mnt/Common/Downloads/Linux/tork/src/arkollon'

The GZipped archive didn't extract correctly using Ark. Maybe the Arkollon files weren't extracted.

Can you try to get it working on FC5? TorK looks really good from the screenshots. - May 27 2006

Until now I've had to export my KPS database to HTML and import the entries manually into Linux. This is insecure and time-wasting.

Thanks for writing a much-needed accessory.

The only little issue was overcome by:
chmod -R 755 /usr/local/share/keepass

In future releases, will you be including an "Export to KDE Wallet" or an "Export to XML (KDE Wallet Importable)" option? Or would this compromise security? - Sep 12 2005
