Cool plasmoid. Also, very nice to see you're so responsive to feature requests. In light of that, any chance of seeing a "Blank Display"/"Turn off Monitor" button? (The command for this on distros that use DPMS: "xset dpms force off") :)

Friggin' awesome, man. Back to normal. Much thanks, especially for the quick reply. :)

First and foremost, much thanks for your work on this widget-- It's been my #1 choice for quite some time since the default clock is pretty much hideous on the panel.
With that said, in KDE 4.5, the settings dialog for Adjustable Clock appears to be completely useless now. Any changes made by the user aren't applied after hitting OK; the widget itself doesn't reflect them and the settings are reset to their defaults upon re-opening AC's settings dialog. If the fixes to the problems BETLOG mentioned are still a ways off, hopefully this will be a quick fix. Otherwise, I'm on pins and needles for the next release. :D - Aug 16 2010

Hey there. I just saw you were having some trouble building a Plasma widget on Kubuntu 10.04. The packages you need to install are:
kdelibs5-dev kdebase-workspace-dev libqt4-dev
I'm actually not certain on whether that last one is needed, but it doesn't hurt to have it around, as it's necessary for building any Qt4-based application. - Jun 09 2010

First of all, thank you so much for putting in the extra time and effort to create KSplash *and* KDM themes for so many of your fine wallpapers. I really wish more of the artists around here did that as it goes a long way towards allowing the user to have a smooth, consistent desktop.
Now, on to my nit-picking. :P I really like this theme, especially how the login/password entry fields are contained in an extension of the right quarter of the circle. Given how good this detail looks, I have to ask: Why didn't you design the user list in the same way? Other than that, no complaints. Keep up the great work! - Aug 15 2010

This is a really great idea. In all my pining for the return of visualizers to Amarok, I can't believe I never thought of this; something from the Really Slick Screensavers collection and I'm set.
- Aug 14 2010
I can't believe this doesn't have a higher rating. Easily one of the most creative and original KSplash themes I've seen; great job!!
- Aug 12 2010
Awesome, thanks. I'm looking forward to it. :)
- Aug 09 2010
...Do you think you could maybe release a tarball of the folder icons *without* the bubbles? :D
- Aug 06 2010
Going purely on aesthetics, this looks pretty good. Usability-wise though, don't you think buttons need to stand out just a tad more?
- Aug 09 2010
He pretty much summed up my thoughts on it. Freakin' gorgeous work you've done here-- I'm actually gonna be changing my QtCurve theme [from the current one which I put a lot of work into] just to match this. That's saying a lot.
The *only* thing which might be improved upon is the system tray. On thin panels (~36px or less), its background covers up the border that goes along the exterior edge of the panel (e.g: http://imagebin.ca/view/RHwPFe.html). Aside from this tiny detail, perfect. Much gratitude. - Aug 08 2010

I really like this guy's ideas. Any hope of seeing them implemented? :D
Either way, *great* job on this widget. It does something _very_ important that, until now, hadn't been done by anyone to my knowledge: It allows the system to obey Fitt's Law (common and important actions should be accessible via jamming the mouse to a screen edge/corner) when a top panel is in use. It's a little puzzling that Apple hadn't thought of this yet. Leave it to FOSS! :) - Aug 08 2010

This should definitely be included in the default set of available widgets. Have you contacted the KDE devs about this?

Nevermind that last request; I just discovered QSMMP, which is essentially QMMP with a native Qt interface.

...A decent lightweight music player for when all I want to do is load up some tunes and space out to projectM's lovely visuals. Thank you!
One tiny complaint/suggestion though: I remember the old WinAmp having a function to double the size of its windows; I couldn't find that functionality in QMMP. Any chance you might add it? - Jun 30 2010

Very clever. Nice work. :)

Awesome work you've done here. Seems to work nicely. I had made a few Emerald themes I was rather proud of; this saves me the big hassle of porting them to deKorator, so big thanks.

I'm having this issue as well on Kubuntu with KDE 4.4.3. Also, making any changes in the configuration dialog and then selecting the "Presets and Preview" section (or trying to change the preset) causes the module to crash. This problem just started with 1.4.1.

Sounds like a very interesting app. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this; once it's out of alpha I'll give it a shot.

Glad you like it. I found the wallpaper on 4chan, so no idea about the original artist, but here ya go. http://imagebin.ca/view/B5sVBw.html

Awesome, that got it. Many thanks for your help on this - I was struggling with the math sensor forever. Here's the final result: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=124682

Thanks for the quick reply. That's really close to what I'm trying to get, but what do I need to put in the value line so it just shows the first two digits without the decimal point and the following two digits? Here's what I have now:
value use="mem.appl.pt" font="Eurostile Extended, 48" format="$1%" alignment="Center" interval="1000"
And that's showing, for example, "50.05%", when I'd like for it to just show "50%". Again, thanks for your help. :) - May 13 2010

I've been trying to set this up for weeks with no success. Would someone be so kind as to post a script for this? To clarify, I'm trying to get the percentage of RAM currently in use, not counting buffers/cache. Ten thousand internets for whoever can oblige. :)

I was just recently checking out GNOME and found myself wishing KDE had something like GnoMenu. Very nice work; much appreciated.

First and foremost, thanks for your work on this fine plug-in. It's one of the better-looking effects I've seen for any OS.
Sadly, one of the recent updates (presumably) has made it stop working properly for me. Now, the pulse of the window is opaque when the Fade plug-in is enabled. I've uploaded a video to illustrate what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N8Rm4F8o6A
Thinking this may be related to my KWin settings, I created a new account, logged into it, and enabled the Pulse plug-in-- same problem. :\
I'm using Kubuntu 10.04, and the package for your plug-in from here: https://launchpad.net/~samrog131/+archive/ppa/+packages - Apr 20 2010

Strange, it works fine for me (well, kind of - the videos I recorded with it play back ~2x speed, but I suspect this could be due to the unstable version of FFMPEG I have installed). Which version of KDE do you have installed?
I'm wondering, are there any plans to add the types of effects seen in Cheese? Also, more importantly, have you considered adding the ability to record the audio from the webcam's built-in microphone as well? I'd really love to see this added, as I'm not having any luck recording the audio in a seperate program. Finally, are you going to add any other upload sites? Flickr and Vimeo come to mind. There's actually already a Kipi plugin for uploading images to Flickr; I imagine it'd be trivial to implement that into your program.
Regardless of your answers to those questions, thanks for a great program. I look forward to the future releases. :) - Nov 28 2009

XbmcCover (Video thumbnail plugin)

Really great idea; thanks for sharing this.
A note to anyone that was previously using mplayerthumbs or kffmpegthumbnailer: You'll most likely need to empty your thumbnail cache (rm ~/.thumbnails/*) before this works properly. Before I did this, it was only showing the XBMC thumbs in the information pane.
Since this plug-in only works for videos which have thumbnails in XBMC, it'd be nice if it allowed mplayerthumbs/kffmpegthumbnailer to work for those that don't. Other than that, great job! - Mar 06 2010

It's a dark color scheme for Konversation. Looks good by the way. I'm currently using a dark color scheme on my main system and I'm too lazy to go and change the colors for individual programs, so this comes in pretty handy for me. Thanks!

...the static black background gives it a somewhat unfinished look. Interesting concept though; I'd like to see it further developed. :)

Looks delicious. Keep it up! :)

This looks really nice, especially for my media center box. But I have no idea how to build it. (There really should be a readme in the tarball so you don't have to answer stupid questions like these. :P )

This was already the slickest weather widget I'd seen on any platform. This latest release further solidifies that ranking. Great job!
