It depends on the redshift settings: being a low contrast theme on its own, it requires only to shift the color temperature. If you tweak other settings you will probably mess it up quite a bit :). - Sep 27 2018

Just a guess: it looks like your command doesn't override the destination files (which seems to be already present).

Please delete the destination dir first.

A simple way to procede would be using the context menu "Extract Here" in your file manager. which should create the "equilux-theme-v20170913". Then move its 2 dirs content to "/usr/share/themes" as an admin (overriding them if they already exist) and you should be OK. - Sep 13 2017
