Yeah, I'm having the same issue. I try going into it with recovery mode via GRUB and it stops after saying that it cannot open the root device. Essentially it can no longer mount the main file system for some odd reason. Since I'm not an expert on file systems and making changes to linux without a working operating system, I'm somewhat SOL and will have to reinstall. I would recommend Ubuntu 7.10 users to stay away for now. - Nov 23 2007
