As I said above, it's a namespace issue. Use std::cout and std::endl. - Jun 12 2004
It's a namespace requirement of ANSI C++. If you are not going to declare that you're using the std namespace (it's usually best not to), you should to explicitly use:

#include <iostream>

int main(int argc, char** argv) {

std::cout << "something << std::endl;

I shouldn't imagine so, I wouldn't like to see it.

The application of window shadows is with the X11 server itself, rather than the window manager. Eventually the Composite/Damage extensions will find their way from the fd.o Xserver into XFree86 and you'll get your shadows. - Apr 29 2004

There have been some significant KWin API changes in 3.2, and even though backwards compatibility could be provided, I'd rather concentrate on Kicker Pager becoming a Pager replacement in future KDE releases. - Apr 08 2004
The problem is the aspect ratios. It'll be fixed. - Jun 23 2003
Alright, all comments noted. It's my birthday tommorrow so I wont be working much, and as I have a fair amount to do for the next release it'll take a little while longer.

Thanks for the feedback. - Jun 21 2003
The obvious issue with the resizing is maintaining the aspect ratio. I noticed the original KPager author hadn't actually implemented that yet, so it's something I will be looking into doing.

I'm not sure I undertsood your last suggestion? Do you mean, like being able to have four, five or six pagers? - Jun 20 2003
New release uploaded. Enjoy. - Jun 20 2003
Well, I seem to have canned that compilation problem. It seems to be some differences in the KWin API from the lastest CVS and 3.1. In the end it's a rather ugly hack to the ./configure script and some minor code alterations but I'm pretty sure it will work.

It's 3am, so I haven't had a chance to test it on KDE 3.1 yet, I'll have to go and fire up another machine. I'll do it tomorrow, and have it released then too. I did some other work on it also.

Until tomorrow.. - Jun 19 2003
I'll look at it today. - Jun 19 2003
OK, well, I'll spend a portion of the day working out those bugs. I'll test it on another machine I have which is running 3.1, see what I can do. I'll probally release a second version later tonight. - Jun 19 2003
Well, I'm running 3.1.90 (CVS, Slackware), so that might be the case. Anyone else had it working with 3.1? - Jun 18 2003
Suprisingly enough you're at it. - Jun 18 2003

I probably wouldn't use that, however, I'll look at implementing something similar in the future. Perhaps a simple configuration dialog which allows you to choose whether chat windows are embedded?

To save space how does having the windows tabbed at the bottom sound? - Jan 24 2004
No, though it could.

I'm not sure I can really think of why exactly you'd want that. Could you explain that to me? - Jan 23 2004

Right, this is going to take a while longer - there is alot to do. I have had hardly no time this weekend, I would have liked to have done, but heh, such is life.

There will have to be several design decisions to make, I'd appreciate alittle approval on them?

- If the kicker is set to < Normal should the text automatically align to alongside?

- Should the font size change as the kicker get's smaller?

- The icon size will have to be smaller in order to include the text, is this acceptable or should the panel be made larger?

Thanks alot. - Dec 06 2003
Just thought I'd let you know I've started a patch for this. I'll try and get a screenshot up tonight. - Dec 05 2003

I'm alittle curious to way Mosfets explicit permission is needed? If Liquid is licensed under the GPL, as I understand it is, permission is granted in the terms and conditions of the license, not explicitly on request. Is this just to be polite? - Dec 03 2003

Well, most people usually have the intellegence or maturity to comprehend that others have opinions different to theres and when nations launch preemptive strikes against nations without the backing on any global entity (ie, the UN) peoples opinions get alittle distorted. Live with it, it's happening in your name, you can stop it but you choose not too. - Apr 09 2003
Ok, you can be silent. One of the main factors of this *free* software movement is freedom, the freedom of software, expression and choice. KDE plays prominant role in this movement, and if a contribution to the movement (ie, this background) offends you in anyway (due to personal opinion) then you have no right what so ever to say it should be removed. You simply ignore it. This is ART, it can be contraversal and should be based on the opionion of the artist. This isn't a pro-American website which refuses to publish information against other opinions, this isn't a pro-War site, this isn't a political site, this is a site dedicated to art work and improvements to the KDE project. That is just what this is. Keep your politicial views to yourself, it is upto each individual person to say weather or not they agree with the leadership of a country and if you hadn't noticed in the introduction to the image ash933 even states that he respects those in the armed forces so yes, that includes PV Lynch. (As a side note, what about the thousands of Iraqi POWs or the thousands illegally kept in camp XRAY, Cuba?).

You also make references to Markism and communism... May I ask why if someone is supposedly anti-American, or more to the point, anti-Bush that makes him a communist or a folllower of communism? That seems a very very uninformed judgement on a site which follows one of the largest social (with refernces to socialism!) movements for the last 20 years!

So in conclusion, shut up, and judge the art. It looks nice, well done ash. - Apr 08 2003
The discussion will not be war related it hopefully will be related to the image in question. It just so happens that the image has a theme of war and the social divide which pushes nations towards it. But, the theme is set by the artist, it isn't our place.

Good work ash! - Apr 08 2003
