erm... he/she said it was his/her opinion. I don't see why you should say it's nonesense :) - Sep 04 2008
don't be. it's really easy, you should pick a folder, right-click it and select properties. in the properties window you will see the current icon, you should drag the new icon and drop it over the icon in the properties window. - Jun 21 2008
to be honest they don't look much alike to me :) but thanks! - May 28 2008

any chance to release this theme in SVG?. most of the icons look like they were just resized without any optimization, making them look kinda blurry to me.

if you're not going to release the SVGs then try to use symlinks instead of duplicating the same file over and over again, this might save some bandwidth :)

it's a great theme though, but then again small icons don't look sharp and they lose their shape making them barely recognizable.

best regards!,

Cimi!, yeah, I just added 16x16 symlinks and a couple 16x16 devices :) ... BTW, I just uploaded 0.1.1 that adds a few missing symlinks, get it at the same URL :P - Aug 04 2007
Yup, that's exactly the plan :). But until I'm satisfied with it I'll keep the SVGs around :)... Besides, I don't have all my scripts to automate the process (I left them in my main workstation -- that means, I'm not home now, hehe) - Feb 18 2007
glad to hear you like it :) - Feb 02 2007
Hmm... I don't know... Lordcrow usually makes ports of Dropline Neu, maybe he can make a port for this one. I haven't had much time to update this icon set, but I have some new devices that I intend to post once I finish with some other comercial icons :) - Jul 02 2006
Good to hear that :) ... Downloads should be working now, I moved to another server recently and I'm sure some of you weren't able to download the icon set.
BTW, those who are voting these icons as "bad", I'd like to hear why they do so, maybe I can improve a little bit. And don't come with "I don't like them" as an answer, there must be something specific about what you do not like and why. - Apr 05 2006
For those of you that may get corrupted downloads: My unresponsive and unreliable web hosting service provider hasn't gave me any good answers as to why these bad downloads happen. I'm starting to move to another hosting service provider, so if you find the download to be broken then don't worry, it might be becouse of the moving. If the broken link persists for a couple days, then drop me a note or post a comment :) - Mar 31 2006
cimi, have you tried them? becouse they don't look so out of context to me. Maybe trying and seeing the arrows at their actual size (24x24) might improve :) - Mar 30 2006
Thanks :) ... I think the Tango Project is amazing, I wouldn't want to spoil it :P.
Seriously, they're doing an amazing job already, I think I should keep doing my own sets to keep diversity for our beloved GNOME Desktop :) - Mar 29 2006
reduced alpha to 0.75, now it doesn't look too shiny :) thanks for the comment (will post a new screenie soon, i'm currently working on 16x16, 22x22 and 24x24 versions of the current icons.) - Mar 29 2006
thanks! :) the icon set is getting usable, soon i might have a release or something - Mar 27 2006
Thanks :) ... i'm actually aiming at the same target, so familiarity is OK for now. Maybe with time it'll change enough as a completely different icon set.
Besides, it's just a preview, not even usable yet, so i'm sure things will change. - Mar 26 2006
Actually i wasn't inspired by Ubuntu (i don't use Ubuntu either). But i agree that the color scheme might resemble to Ubuntu's.
Anyway, with the considerations that i'm taking on the design changing an icon's color would require only a couple mouse clicks :) - Mar 26 2006
Yes, all of them are Inkscape SVGs :) - Mar 26 2006

the icons are very nice... most of them are very "everaldo-ish" and the folders are very Windows Vista-like.

The navigation icons (back, forward, up, reload), however, lack of the quality that makes the other interesting.

But it's a good start :D - Feb 15 2007

I'm sorry, but those icons are NOT Tango. You have Gion folders and mimetypes and you also have Yasis for the launchers in the panel... both icon sets I've done. - Jun 20 2006

Pablo Fabregat, a friend, is supposed to port these to KDE. He's been working on it for some time now, but he doesn't have a release yet.

I don't have KDE installed, so I can't port them... - May 29 2006
Thanks :) That's really not my objective (putting tango into shame), but its really good to hear you like these :) - May 23 2006
Thanks! :)... some color mods to folders are coming in the next release ;) - May 23 2006
Sure thing :) Right now I'm working on some icons for a commercial app, but I'll add color mods for folders ASAP ;) - May 07 2006

Wouldn't it be better to make a new icon set cointaining your green version of tango and make it inherit the original tango?. That way you wouldn't need to replace any of the original files from the Tango Project and give the user the option to change back to original Tango if they want, without having to redownload and reinstall the icon set. - Mar 31 2006

the icons are nice, but don't you think that it would be nice to have another gnome-fs-client that doesn't look like an iMac G5... i mean, most of GNOME users are running x86 computers... anyway, this is really nit-picky, but it's just me thinking out loud - Dec 16 2005

well, when you submit a theme and fill out the form you can see that there are 12 'content file' fields for you to fill in.
you can only upload one file to gnome-look, but if you have some webspace you can upload it there and then link it :) - Dec 03 2005
