I've been keeping an eye on this iconset of yours since it first showed up on kde-look and I have to say I positively love it! Can barely wait to see the final version (or at least the theme release).
The whole theme is amazing, but I hope some suggestions/comments:
- it kinda bothers me that the document.png reminds me heavily on MS Word and the Macromedia logo ..dunno why
- I think the icons for the vector mimetypes would look even better if they had a node or two shown in it. I think that would really make them more comprehensible that they represent vector graphics (and not bitmap)
- I don't get it why xfc.png and .psd look different then other bitmap mimetypes ...maybe you wanted to show difference between simple and layered image types? If that is so - it's awesome though! :D
- Maybe the navigation buttons stand out a bit much from the rest for my taste - but I dunno ...some experts say that's how it's supposed to be :P
p.s. I would have posted my comments sooner, but I didn't have time :/
p.p.s. You, my sir, rock! - May 14 2006
Your style is great!!
It'd be even more awesome (to me) if you would make a 1280x800 version of it so I can run it on my laptop - that'd really make my day!
Keep on the good work - no, really, please do!! - May 06 2006
Great work! that's very much like I imagined it!
I agree that the pinkness in danna is pretty cool and original and I like it a lot ...but it clashes with the rest of my KDE colours ...and having a pink desktop somehow doesn't work for me :( - Jun 28 2005
On the side note, your KIO slave is based on ifp-line. Is ifp-line a part of your tarball or is it a dependancy? - Jun 26 2005
There's just one small problem ...I can't find a KDE colour scheme to match it. I'd be very thankful if you could tell me which one you think completes this theme the best. - Jun 25 2005
off topic: great idea, kde-files :] - May 17 2005
I hope you'll find time soon to work on these awesome iconset.
Want to know why there's not many quality feedback?
Simple: there's nothing about it that we'd want to have changed - we're just looking at it, drooling and waiting for an update. ;)
I hope all your work works out as great as this iconset!! (and your page!) - Jan 11 2005
...no pressure, just asking :)
btw: congrats on winning the amaroK icon contest! ...didn't realize it was you at fist :] - Jan 11 2005
...and i'm sure i'm not the only one ;) - Jul 30 2004
it's awesome!!! - Jan 11 2005
I'll contact them, but I am completely aware that this is a "problem" with ksvg and that they are the guys who can solve it and need convincing. - Nov 19 2004
All i could find was an app that *changes* the colours *in* the SVG.
I'm thinking of making the SVG use an outside file to read the colours (and styles for the lines, etc) in the first place.
If there's a similar project, please tell me - no reason in reinventing hot water, is there? - Nov 18 2004
they only have an nice new option that they can use. ...but, of course, if there's noone to make such icons, there's no reason for it. - Nov 15 2004
but the thing is that you need to make an upload (unless the kde-look system changed lately) and that's a nice work-around - Nov 15 2004
but, please tell me - where did you get that xmms skin? - Oct 28 2004
great work! - Sep 30 2004
hope that enlightens the day of fellow C&H fans :] - Aug 03 2004

But maybe, I'll find time someday to get together a simple test entry.
Why don't you guys mail me someday, so we can discuss it more thouroughly?

I'd love to see a link (couldn't google anything sensible).
I was thinking on how to make it cross-platform too, but the web-based idea is great :D ...this way maybe even Kdict can (in a future version) search in Pydima dictionaries because of the DICT support :]
When Pydima works, all we'd need is a nice (and simple) editor (apart from the web-based one i'd love to see a cute qt/kde app) ...but that's probably already another project.
Great! ...didn't anticipate such a good news so soon :D - May 17 2004
I hope it gets into KDE 3.3!! ^-^ - Aug 01 2004
...some shading on the leaves would do them good IMHO - Jul 26 2004
Since noone has given any C&C, I'll just comment what I noticed - no idea, if you meant it that way or you want to have it fixed...
What I noticed was that the flower's really stings out from the hand - I think it has a bit too sharp edges towards the hand. - Don't get me wrong, it's not the shape of the flower that bothers me.
Maybe just bluring very very slightly the places where the blue flower touches the gray hand, might make it look nicer.
...then again, I'm no artist :] - Jul 21 2004
...but i'd still like to see it :] - Jun 06 2004
...i'd only propose a small improvement:
could you make it so, that instead of having all buttons on the right of the title, you could have some that would hang down from the edge (like that white-stripped tab now does).
that way you could place buttons left and right from the title also here (like you can with other kwin decos)
...pretty please ^^ - Jun 06 2004
I like having my "x" (and menu) button separated from the others, and in your kwin deco this cannot be done :( ...that's the only reason why I don't use it.
My suggestion: you could make an extension of the button section pointing to the bottom (like an tupped over "L") ...so you would have the (already existant) horizontal bit acting as the "right" bit of the bar in the buttons' settings, and the vertical one, acting as the "left" bit.
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say ...I know it's written down a bit confuzing :] - Apr 18 2004

oh, btw, did you graduate well? - May 30 2004
If this gets implemented into KDE later on, you can definetly bet on getting a beer (tea, or whatever's your poison) from me!!
I just see one little "problem" - how much resources will this eat? ...I mean, I'm constantly running 6 desktops and have different backgrounds on each ...and now I try to imagine what would happen then to my resources when I put like 4 or 5 nifty effects on each background - that would be 6 background images (maybe even more, if i combine different images), with cca. 28 effects.
Keep up the good work ...can't wait to see the end result - Apr 25 2004
i was a bit upset when i noticed that you said not all the cursors are done yet ...now be quick and finish them off ...this will 100% be my next cursor theme ^_^v - May 16 2004
...and there's a slackware penguin too :D
what can i say: "Group hug!!!" - Apr 18 2004
keep it up :D - Apr 18 2004
it'd be a pity, because it's one of the best, most inovative styles i've seen ...come on, give yourself a push, make a new version ...you know you want to ;)
oh, yea ...great style :D - Apr 13 2004
should end up good though :D
(maybe some icons wouldn't hurt) - Feb 04 2004
i think that amor could be used for something like that ...but definetly not as the default setting ...maybe, on the first setup run of KDE, the user would be asked if (s)he wanted a helper for now (you know like it asks you which theme and so on)
...in any case i'd loooooveee to see new amor themes :D (yea, i know, wrong site) - Jan 31 2004
