Hi,
for me the addon stopped to work with Firefox version 32.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
Got so used to the addon that the absence of it reminds me, how much it improved my browsing experience. - Sep 06 2014

Thanks a ton! Sometimes you need to loose something first to remember how much you need it. :)

Personally I mostly use the single window GIMP mode nowadays. But you are right, I see the same problem, if I install the package via system settings. But it works for me, if I run it from the KWin console (qdbus org.kde.plasma-desktop /MainApplication showInteractiveKWinConsole). Will look into it.
> I also wonder why I can't download it from the kwin script download screen in the kwin settings?!?
That is probably because I uploaded it shortly before the kwin script category was available. When I figure out above mentioned bug, I will reupload it in the correct category and put a link in the description of this package.
Thanks for reporting.

Nice tool. Thanks. :)
I experience a few small issues, which seem to be connected to switching to a window on a different activity.
Afterwards the widget stays open but the search field does not have focus anymore. Typing will now open krunner. Closing and opening the widget again does not help. One needs to manually select the search field for it to regain focus.
Also the display of the content of the widget seems to be messed up after activity switching. Not all entries are listed or overlap with other entries.
Then a few suggestions. It is very hard to see which window is currently selected (default theme air). Compare it to the highlighting of an selection by krunner for example.
Maybe reconsider the order in which activities are listed. Windows with multiple activities are listed on top, but below that it is neither alphabetical nor recent use.
Thanks again for the plasmoid. I think it will help me to keep track of my activities and windows. :) - Jan 15 2013

So there is actually a ns.nl url which has departure in its string. Is there any chance to integrate this into the public transport plasmoid?

Searched a bit further and by now there is an API available http://www.ns.nl/api/api but access is limited. - Feb 14 2012

Hi,
thanks for this interesting effect and your help with compiling. I fully agree with the statement in your blog, activities are to seperate your work and VDs are all about space. :)
So some feedback:
The effect can not be activated when the binary kwin_gles is used, it has to be the kwin binary.
When one switches to a two monitor setup a "kwin --replace" is needed, otherwise the strip stays empty. Note I used "xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output VGA1 --mode 1680x1050 --above LVDS1" to switch to two monitors.
In the mentioned two monitor setup the tab strip occurs where both screens meet, see http://wstaw.org/m/2012/01/05/plasma-desktophS1890.png - Jan 05 2012

Same here with the same kde version, Kubuntu 11.10 with the beta-ppa for KDE. It seems they did some changes concerning /usr/include/kactivities/consumer.h as it is now found in the package libkactivities-dev, see https://code.launchpad.net/~yofel/kubuntu-packaging/kdelibs-active-4.7/+merge/71555

Yes log in log out after activation of the effect makes no difference here. This is KDE SC 4.6.0.

Look in Desktop Effects for Titlemenu.

It is a nice idea to save some space, but I experience some problems when I try to trigger the effect, see this screenshot: http://www.wstaw.org/m/2011/02/17/plasma-desktopnz1979.jpg

Worked for me in Maverick with kubuntu-updates-ppa. Had to install libpoppler-qt4-dev additionally to the packages mentioned in the README.

Have a look at the plasma netbook interface. The desktop of the launch and search activity does display during alt-tab.
