As I said above, this Domino config is absolutely wonderful. I love how it's not too smooth, but isn't way too glossy either.

So I was thinking, "Man, there should really be more themes like this, the gloss is just perfect..."

And then it struck me -- why not create more themes like this, but designed for different color schemes? (I think) this would look perfect with a green or blue color scheme specifically designed for this Domino config, not just slate. - Sep 05 2007

I'm not to much into light themes (like the one you provide), and all the domino dark themes just look bad imho (either too dark, or too much glass). Just for the heck of it I tried this config with the default domino color scheme, and it is definitely a keeper! It's just the perfect shade of grey, not too shiny, and the whitish widgets look great against that grey.

Thanks for such a great config!

If you want something to improve though, for the default Domino color scheme, could you make the menus more grey? That's my only gripe, the menus don't fit in as well with the rest of the theme. - Aug 27 2007

When I run your themes, the menu bar at the top (Apps, Places, System, and Launchers) is slightly larger than if I wasn't running your themes. This isn't too much of a problem, except it causes my icons for my launchers to be extended by 1 pixel, which makes them really fuzzy. I can post an image if you need me to.

You should add an option so that people can create new themes directly from the configurator, so that they don't have to create a new theme from scratch. They could choose the colors they want for all the different widgets and such, and then just like editing already installed themes, they could edit the styles.

This would make creating new Murrine themes really easy, since people wouldn't have to know any code-they could just do everything from the configurator. - Nov 26 2006

I really like the black themes you made here, but I can't really say that I like the black buttons on the silver plastic window border. Something that fits better with the silver would be a lot nicer. But, the black buttons look absolutly perfect with the two black ones. - Jun 25 2006

Do you think you could make this a public project and release the style guidelines like they did with Tango? Then others could work on it and submit their icons and ideas, but you would still have the final say what gets in and what doesn't.

This would be nice for a Opera widget when v.9 comes out.

Opera 9 will support widgets just like Apple's Dashboard or (the totally ripped off) M$ Sidebar in Longwait.

This is a beautiful metacity theme. I have a couple segestions, though.

1) You should make the bottom corners round. It would give it even more of a Vista look.

2) Add suport for 2 button windows. There's like a "hole" in the window because it thinks it's a three button (minimize, maximize, close), when really it's a two button one (To see what I mean and what it looks like, go to Applicatons->Accessories->Calculator.)

3) Make the close button longer than the other two. This is how it looks in Vista.

4) (This is just my preferance, but) Make the close button red when it's not being clicked on.
