KDE 3 Color Schemes by Brad 5 comments

I'd like to see a nice charcoal-gray theme, and Brad's on the right track.

Looks cool with the Knifty window decorations, and the blue sets it off nicely. My only problem is the black on charcoal text (my eyes might just be getting old, lol).

Sorry, man.
Neither of the two links you posted ( even mention Chinese evangelists being forced to exist in tiny cells, crimping bulbs with their teeth.

All that's offered is anecdotal evidence in the first link (which was quite interesting, but as I said, purely anecdotal); and the site catered to the fanatical crowd (Pat Robertson supported Robert Taylor and made money off of blood diamonds and gold. He doesn't have a thing to say about persecution in my book, and should keep his self-righteous, hypocritical piehole shut).

I would like to see an unbiased source of proof of your claims concerning Christian evangelists in China. Instead, you offer a snippet of information on debating tactics.
I ask myself why. - Nov 25 2003

Wallpaper Other by timbrown527 51 comments

um... I meant references about the treatment of these people in China.

I note that he posted two links, but both are fundie sites. Nothing from Amnesty International or any international human welfare organization. - Nov 25 2003

Great, now the subject subtly shifts (as it generally does) from expression of faith to cultural bashing.

Tim, can you cite references for your claims? References not from some christian fundie propaganda site?

And Chris308, really. Chinks? Towel heads?
Please tell me that was a troll, and not the inbred droolings of the sort of bible-thumping neocon that gives christians a bad name in the first place.

"Please explain how such a miraculous event was recorded nowhere and discussed by no one, and given that this is the case, how the myth it is based on, can now be considered factual."

My point was that the great pyramid was obviously constructed (it's there, right?), but this "miraculous event was recorded nowhere and discussed by no one". Or at least, we have to date uncovered no such accounts. We have the stories related to us by Herodot, among others, told to him by locals, millenia after the fact.

So, you see: I am sticking to the question posed.

"Read carefully the question that was asked, then pose your answer based on the question that was asked please."

You're pretty damned condescending for someone with a plank in their eye.
But then, making up a login ID just to ridicule somebody with different views than your own is pretty childish.

BTW, I'm neither a christian nor a creationist.

Have a great day. :) - Nov 21 2003

timPLEZdrown527, if the history of ancient Egypt is so well chronicled, where is it written who built the great pyramid. It's construction is attributed to Cheops (Khufu), but this is an educated guess. Stones found with his cartouche on them are known forgeries, and there are no hieroglyphs on the walls.

My point is that the history is not as seamless as you seem to believe.

As far as the bible and archeology go, the ruins of several ancient cities have been located almost solely on the biblical description of their locations, one example being Ur of the Chaldeans, the existance of which had previously been considered a fairy tale. - Nov 21 2003

how people who probably preach tolerance also believe that it only applies to them.
I see wallpapers that abound in pagan symbolism and satanic themes, and nobody gripes. Let some christian state their beliefs, and ppl come unwound.

I agree that the design has nothing to do with KDE, but it's hardly the only such wallpaper here.

Ease up on the guy; freedom and choice is wonderful. That's why we love KDE and the Free operating systems that it runs on. If the wallpaper offends, there are many others to look at. - Nov 18 2003
