hi dear,
I saw your nice Wallpaper here. It looks good so far. Only in the middle, there it could be a little bit more light (around this gnome-foot shown on your Wallpaper). Then it would be ideal.

It's just a suggestion. But it looks really good so far. It would then be a perfect green background for the LinuxMint-Distro. So let it grow and develop it onwards. Keep up this nice artwork.

@ satya164,

hy dear, it's me again. I found, that your file is a .tar.gz-archive. this makes installing easier for Ubuntu-Users
as well as LinuxMint-Users.

The easy way is the following one:

First install the faenza-icon-theme through the repository. The repository you will finde on http://launchpad.net. There choose the ppa for your system (Lucid/Maverick/Natty). Install it according to the installation-instructions. For this, you need your terminal and your sources.list.

In the terminal, you first enter this command:
sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver
keyserver.ubuntu.com (here type in the number).

Through this command, ypu import the authentication-key. Wait until the key is successfully imported.

Then type in this:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/cources.list

Then the sources.list opens. Scroll down until the very last line of the sources.list and press "Enter" to insert a new line.

Then copy & past the two lines shown on http://launchpad.net. Then in the menuline above, you press the button "save" for saving these changes to your sources.list and then close it.

Then you are back in the terminal.
There you enter these commands:

sudo apt-get update (let it run through completely)

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade (also let it run through completely).

And as final step you enter this command:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-equinox equinox-theme equinox-ubuntu-theme faenza-icon-theme

Then wait, until installation has completed and close the Terminal.

Afterwards rightclick on a free space on your desktop and select "Change desktop-background". Then the theme-manager opens. just push this file into the windows and the theme will be copied automaticly to the theme-manager.

For the last step, you select this theme and the faenza-icons and save this with the name Ambiance blue.

That's it.

@ satya164,

Ubuntu as well as LinuxMint can also deal with .tar.gz-archives. So there shouldn't be any Problems for these users as me with installing your theme. Only .rpm-files are a little problem. But there is also a way how to install them. So, everybody can use your theme.

How to do this??

OK, just open Nautilus and there go to the Menu on the top. There you select the option "display hidden files".
Then you go downwards through your personal folder and there you see two folders called .themes and .icons.

Then unpack the gtk-theme into the folder .themes. Then close Nautilus.

Afterwards, you follow the instructions of installing the faenza-icons, which you will find on http://launchpad.net. But you can also look here for the faenza-icons.

After installation of the faenza-icon-theme, you click on a free space on your desktop, and open the theme-manager.
There you see four tabs. There you choose the very left one, where it says "themes". There you go to one theme and press "change" and select your windowborder, the gtk-theme and the icons and then save it with the name Ambiance blue. Close the theme-manager and voilá, you're done.

This is all you have to do.

If someone needs help, just tell me here.

Then this theme will be copied and installed automaticly.

Or you can even go to your home-folder. In the menu-line at the top, you go to "Look" and choose "display hidden data" and then you see a folder called .themes in your home-folder. Just open this folder and put the package there and extract it. Then close this folder again and close your home-folder.

hi dear,
found the solution myself. First you should download this package to your desktop and unpack it completely.

Then go to you terminal and type in this:
cd Desktop

to go to your desktop-folder. There
you enter this into your terminal:
sudo mv faenza_battery_applet_for_awn_
by_samuzelrafo-d3696/faenza /usr/share/avant-window-navigator/applets/battery/themes

and press enter. Then you will be asked to enter your user-password. Do so and then this pack will be moved to this place.

Then you have to set a reboot, in order to be able to select this theme after-wards. After the reboot, go to your dock, select the battery-applet and rightclick on it. Select preferences and there in "Display" you select "faenza". This will change the look of you battery-Icon.

Perhaps there will be also a Windows7-icon-theme in original look. And this is legal because juanjesus also has no licence from Microsoft. And to be honest: who really needs this licence because these icons are downloadble everywhere in the internet with GPL-Licence. So why not making something working for Gnome out of it??

And as written: this is easier as everybody thinks!! So: why does everybode make such a fuss ablut it being illegal???
Because on the other hand: why buying Windows7 for several hundreds of Euros only because of the look which one can have for free in Linux??

why having any moral proboems with sharing and redistributing Microsoft-Icons?? Everybody does it and you can find them allaround in the Internet in other packages. All I do in my theme is, to put them together to a working gnome-theme and share them.
Why being so crazy and spend several hunderds of euros for these Icons, if one can have them for free??? Why on earth?? I don't look into this. I will never do so...

So juanjesus does great work with his Windows7-Icons and he should keep it up. Microsoft won't make any trouble, because they distribute these icons alo for free in there test-Isos.

hi arizlo,
these Icons are circulating everywhere in the Internet for free. Just go to Googles and enter the search-word: blue Vista Icon Packs. Then you will find so many downloadable Icon-Packs with the true blue Vista Icons, so that everybody can have them for free. Even Linux-users. So: if my theme would be illegal, the these users (and there are even many users who offer this at deviantart), would also have to take down there themes. But they are also with no allowence from Microsoft. And even the user juanjesus would have tot take down his theme Win2-7.

So: my theme is really not illegal.

Hi Dear,
these Icons are legal. You can find them here in the theme "Darklinux 1.0.

The other ones I found in ttp://iconspedia.com and http://iconfinder
.com
Ther, they only offer Icons, that are free of charge. I take care, that I only collect Icons, where I do not break any law. So you can download it without being in sorrow, that there could be any claim on you.
For more information, go to http://google.de and enter the searchwords: blue Vista Icon Packs. Then you will also find them there without any cahrge and legal claims.

And then you can also finde the Windows7 Icons here. They are published by Juandejesus. But what he offers, is a terible mixture of ubuntu-icons and Windows7.-Icons. So I plan to bring up also the correct Windows7-Look and the Vista Ultimate-Look.

hi Dear,
strange, that you got into such a situation. I didn't get this situation until up to now, although I am running Linux for three years now.
The only thing, that I got into trouble with, was openoffice during the development-time of Ubuntu 10.10. I needed this office-solution. But during all the updates, it was pushed out of installation and I had to reinstall that.
So this was no real working (doing office-work), I changed over to LinuxMint and this helped me. LinuxMint is an ubuntu-based derivate and this gives so much more possibility than Ubuntu. So I think, I will stay with this distribution. But I also heard and read about the new rumors, that the basic Gnome-Desktop will be pushed out of the Basic system and will be replaced by Unity (the new Desktop of Ubuntu 11.04). I hope, they won't do the same with LinuxMint.
On the one hand, Unity is a better alternative to the gnome-shell. But on the other hand, I need the free space on the desktop, for working on it. So I would be happy, if it is posssible, to reinstall the normal Gnome-Session additionally to Unity.
Why I won't change over to Gnome-shell? The reason is, that this session does not work properly until up to now and it takes too much space on the desktop. That's why I am not a friend of Gnome-shell.

hi together,

if I understand the thing right, this script can be run, if a package is not installed completely or even not installed, because of a failure.

But then, there is another much easier way to fix this.
Just open your Terminal and type in this command: sudo apt-get -f install. This installs the ramining packages. Or if a package remains unconfigured, then you can easily use this command in your Terminal: sudo dpkg --configure pending.

Perhaps this also helps, to fix your problems.

Hi Dear,
nice splash-theme for the new Alternative
of OpenOffice. Looks really like the one of OpenOffice. I have this new Office-Suit installed besides the existing Open-
Office-Suit by Oracle. If this Application OpenOffice should one day really become commercial, then I would be ready to switch. But for the moment, I keep both Office-Suits besides each other. And also the look and feel is no real difference. OK, to install it, it is a bit work to install all these .deb-Packages inside this .tar.gz-archive, which can be downloaded from the LibreOffice-Foundation. And there are also 64bit-Packages. I took it, and it runs fine on my machine.

What is missing to me, are some nice Icons for LibreOffice. Because these are still missing in this new Application. I would love some nice Icons for the Faenza-Icon-theme as well as for the Elementary-Icon-theme.

Perhaps someone has some nice Ideas??

The nimbus-theme with its icons was and is for my believes the best-ever theme which has been released for Ubuntu and ubuntu-based Derivates.

Please develop this theme also on for the future.

Referring to this idea for an update-center, you could easily take over the existing ppa-Repository here: http://launchpad.net. its me, your friend. I just wanted to let you konw, that I downloaded several of these nice Wallpapers. But i didn't take all of them. I preferred the blue one, the green one, the orange one and the pink one and keep these for me in my Wallpaper-archive for the future.

Thank you for these nice Tuxi-Wallpapers. You know, I love such things and these complete my collection of Tuxi-Wallpapers just a little more.

Nice artwork!!! Keep on with development of these.

Greetings
your friend Karmicbastler - Oct 30 2010

hi Dear,
this is a really usefull app. One question remains: will there be an official repository for Ubuntu and other ubuntu-based Distributions like LinuxMint for example??

This wpuld relly be cool, because it makes not only installing plymouth-themes much easier but also to keep it updated.

I would really welcome such a development. You could open up your repository here for example:

http://launchpad.net. This would be helpful for us ubuntu-users too.

Thanks for this nice little app and perhaps - one day - you could work together with the developer of ubuntu-tweak.

Greetings

hi Dear,

I havea new Notebook with Suse 11.3 64bit installed on it. And because of using Gnome there too, I just want to install your nice theme also on Suse.

Perhaps you could give me a hint, how to install it here too??

I already have this theme also on my stationary machine, which runs with LinuxMint 9 Isadora.

I like your theme, so please tell me how to do it here on Suse or could you also enlarge your repository with one for OpenSuse??

Thank you,
